Animals AROUND THE ROCK

Join the Town of Castle Rock in partnership with Douglas Land Conservancy as we dive into the characteristics that define our local wildlife, including raptors, reptiles, bats and other species. Local wildlife experts, organizations and wildlife rehabilitators such as Nature’s Educators and Colorado BatCREW will be featured at these programs. Discover the various types of animals that live locally and all over the world. Find out what they eat, how they hunt, where they live and how they benefit the local ecosystems. Many of these programs will offer the opportunity to meet ambassadors that represent the various wildlife species in our area and hear about their personal stories. Kids and parents are encouraged at these meet and greet times to get up close to the ambassadors, ask questions and take pictures.

JUNIOR GOLF JUNIOR GOLF ACADEMY LEAGUES The 6-hole, 9-hole and 18-hole Junior Golf Leagues give advanced junior golfers the opportunity to have fun and compete for weekly prizes. A different format will be used each week to introduce junior golfers to the competitive side of the game. League fees will include entry into the 2019 Junior Golf Championship on July 23, as well as a punch card good for one meal before or after each event. A competitor is considered advanced if he or she knows and follows all of the rules and etiquette of golf, shows satisfactory course management skills and golfing ability, and can maintain pace of play. It is mandatory that each participant have a parent volunteer for at least two of the scheduled events. Participation will be determined at the discretion of the PGA staff at Red Hawk.

JUNIOR GOLF ACADEMY The Red Hawk Ridge Junior Golf Academy is for participants ages 6 to 16 and has a fresh look for 2019. All students receive personal and group instruction. Classes are limited to five students per instructor. Participants will be entered into an end-of-year tournament and awards banquet to be held July 23. Registration for the Junior Golf Academy will begin April 15. There will NOT be a lottery for this program. Participants can register online for a spot in the academy. For questions contact jkennaugh@CRgov.com. Register online at CRgov.com/Registration. Registration will be available online beginning April 15. Ages: 6–16 (no exceptions) Fee: $65 ($75 nonresident) Location: Red Hawk Ridge (the Rookies SNAG program is held at Bison Park, all other programs are at Red Hawk Ridge)

Due to the popularity of the Junior Golf Leagues and to give everyone a fair chance to participate in 2019, we will be holding a lottery for all spots. Lottery registration will be available online beginning April 15 and continue through May 8. Those selected will be notified via e-mail May 9. Payment must be received by May 23 or your spot will be offered to the next available person. We will hold separate drawings for each league, so be sure to register for the appropriate league. Please call the Pro Shop for more information at 720-733-3500. 6-hole League Fee: $90 ($105 nonresident) 9-hole League Fee: $125 ($135 nonresident) 18-hole League Fee: $160 ($180 nonresident) 93060 June 3–July 15

SNAG Red Hawk Ridge has adopted the SNAG (Starting New At Golf) program to its curriculum for juniors in the Rookie age division. SNAG is a new and fun way to introduce kids to golf. SNAG contains all the elements of golf, but utilizes modified equipment (i.e. Tennis balls, Velcro targets and lightweight clubs with large club heads). SNAG incorporates specialized teaching methods to deliver results with much higher success than students would get out of hitting real balls with real clubs. We provide all of the equipment for SNAG, so please do not bring a set from home. This class is recommended for juniors who have no prior golf experience and would prefer a fun transition into golf rather than jumping right into this highly intricate game. Important Note: All SNAG classes are held at Bison Park and not at Red Hawk Ridge. 93001 June 10–12 Monday–Wednesday, 10–11 a.m. 93002 June 10–12 Monday–Wednesday, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
