LEARN TO SWIM: TODDLER/YOUTH PROGRAM PURPOSE The Town of Castle Rock’s Learn to Swim program opens the door to a lifetime of opportunities in water through progressive instruction in a group or private setting. Our program specializes in teaching all ages and ability levels from toddlers to adults following a continuous curriculum developed to ensure swimmers learn the skills and endurance to be safe and confident in water. With a maximum depth of four and a half feet, and temperature of 87 degrees, the pool at the MAC is an ideal location for swimmers to learn in a comfortable setting. REGISTRATION We offer priority registration for all students who are currently enrolled in our program. The week prior to the last week of each session, we give parents the option to enroll for the next session in advance of general registration opening to the public. Please use that first priority registration week to optimize the best schedule for your swim lesson needs. Priority registration must always be done in person, at either the desk at the MAC or in the pool office with a Coordinator. Payment takes place at registration time. Leaving a message could delay your registration into the next session. Dates for registration in our upcoming sessions are listed below and on our website at CRgov.com/LearnToSwim. We kindly request that you do not double-register your child in order to get the class you desire. A 10 percent cancellation fee will be imposed on all cancellations requested prior to three days from the beginning of the series. After this date, refunds will not be available. All Levels (II/III): All Levels class is suitable for beginners, masters and everyone in between. We offer modifications so that you can customize your class to fit your specific needs and level of expertise. I-All Levels (II/III): Same as All Levels except the infrared room is heated to 95 degrees. Aromatherapy Yoga: Explore aromatherapy in an All-Levels practice to unify the power and benefits of both yoga and aromatherapy, creating a whole new experience that can enhance your yoga practice. Core Conditioning: Strengthen your core utilizing a blend of modern core exercises, Yoga and the Pilates method. Flow (Level III): Intermediate students use breath and flowing movements to connect static and dynamic asanas. Prior practice of yoga recommended. I-Flow: We have a brand new state-of-the-art infrared hot room at Inner Connections! Vinyasa is a moving meditation linking your breath with poses with an inherent intelligence and harmony. Flow through fun, creative and challenging sequences that will give you both strength and flexibility. With sweat comes a beautiful cleansing feeling of detoxification and happiness from the inside. Radiant infrared waves warm the body to peak temperatures that promote ultimate health. Bring a towel and water. Yoga Nidra: An ancient sleep-based meditation technique that has the power to take you to the innermost, deepest levels of relaxation where your whole body and being is permeated by peace of mind and profound stillness. It is said by yogis that one hour of Yoga Nidri is as restorative as four hours of sleep. Starts with gentle movement, then progressive relaxation and nidra.

Gentle (I): Practice a gentle form of yoga with conditioning movements that open hips, knees, ankles, lower back, upper body, and spine to lubricate joints and reduce stress. Learn basic asanas (postures), pranayama (breath work) and meditation. I-Gentle (I): Same as Gentle except the infrared room is heated to 95 degrees. Gentle II: Like Gentle (I) but with the addition of a few basic standing asanas to develop balance and stability while standing. Kaiut Yoga: Addresses biomechanical health (freedom of movement) in a unique practice consisting of long, slow poses that are designed to address old injuries, chronic pain, stiffness and hyper-flexibility. Specific Kaiut sequences are offered weekly in a structured, organized format. Meditation: Following the practice of the Himalayan Masters, you will learn to breathe, relax and rejuvenate the mind, body and spirit at the deepest level. Enjoy a variety of meditation techniques to help you find what resonates with you. Mid-Week Flush-Joints and Glands: From the Himalayan Tradition, experience yoga in our Infrared Room at 6:30 a.m. Enjoy a set of simple, pleasant exercises and asanas that can be enjoyed by everyone. The movements increase circulation to all parts of the body, improve overall flexibility, and restore a natural vitality to the body and mind. All levels welcome. Bring a towel and water. Celebrating a new park while reflecting on a hero’s sacrifice A park means so much more to a neighborhood than just providing playground equipment. It becomes a central gathering location and a place where memories are made within the community. The Town’s next neighborhood park will also pay tribute to one of the community’s fallen heroes. The community was shaken when former Castle Rock Police Officer and Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy Zack S. Parrish III was killed in the line of duty on Dec. 31, 2017. So, this past summer, when the Town was seeking public feedback to name its next neighborhood park, Parrish’s sacrifice was still top of mind. An overwhelming majority of the more than 700 online entries received recommended naming the park, near Aspen View Academy, for Parrish. And that’s what Town Council did in October, designating the park Deputy Zack S. Parrish III Memorial Park. A formal groundbreaking ceremony was held at the park in October, and construction is underway. The $2.6 million project is expected to be complete in spring/summer 2019. The 5.5-acre park will include playground equipment, picnic shelters, trails, a multiuse field, and courts for playing pickleball, bocce ball, corn hole and horseshoes. Visit CRgov.com/futureparks for updates as the project progresses.

Thanks to all who participated in our public process.

DRAMA PROGRAM - TROLLS

Facilitated by KidStage, a national after school drama program with instruction in acting, theatre activities and performance opportunities for kids of all ages. The curriculum includes concentration, teamwork, improvisation, movement, voice, theatre terminology and more. Each class closes with a production-this season’s production is Trolls!

Trolls are the happiest creatures on earth. They love to dance and sing and hug, especially hug. The Bergens, on the other hand, are the most miserable creatures imaginable. They are incapable of creating their own happiness. One day, the Bergens invade Troll Village and capture a handful of Trolls in hopes of eating them and taking their happiness. Princess Poppy, the happiest Troll ever born, and the overly-cautious, borderline grumpy, Branch set off on a journey to rescue their friends. Their mission is to tolerate each other long enough to get the job done. Take part in this epic adventure on a quest to find true happiness and friendship. Final performances will be held Wednesday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. (rehearsal at 4:30 p.m.) for the Wednesday program or Thursday, April 11 at 6:30 p.m. for the Thursday program (rehearsal at 4:30 p.m.). TEDDY BEAR HIP HOP Dance Exploration, LLC is excited to introduce our Teddy Bear Hip Hop Dance™ class. Teddy Bear Hip Hop Dance™ is an introduction to the urban street styles of dancing known commonly as Hip Hop. What makes the class unique is in the execution of the deliverance of dance steps. Each move will be taught using a stuffed animal, like a teddy bear, or similar prop to easily teach break dance moves and other hip hop genres. As classes progress dancers will be asked to perform dance moves that replicate a real life creature or event. For example when teaching isolations or robotics, we may utilize the imagery of a scarecrow to better teach the concepts. The utilization of play-based and imaginative learning is part of the Story Dance Exploration™ class. The skills and movements taught will be age appropriate and will test motor development as well as spatial awareness all part of the ‘Dance to Move!’™ Method. Each Teddy Bear Hip Hop Dance™ class will learn a combo or dance routine to be performed at the graduation. Combos are taught for mastery of skill and are challenging enough to encourage motivation and determination. Teachers follow a “Yes!” environment where the children feel comfortable and safe working with both their instructor and their peers. Educators also encourage children to make the right choices and nurture their self-expression. As part of the ‘Dance to express!’™ Method, all classes end with a free-style circle where kids are challenged to show off their best dance moves while their peers cheer them on! Teddy Bear Hip Hop™ includes the Dance Exploration, LLC Dance at Home with Me™ Program. Students are invited to participate in the Session Showcase. Age: Fee: Location: 63031
