Experience

Comforting Classics

A classic combination that not only oozes festive feels but also evokes comfort to consumers. This year Christmas nods to nostalgia and what a decadent way to add this to your menu with our individually wrapped GlutenFree and Vegan Chocolate & Orange Tart. Serve with a sprinkling of icing sugar to give the perfect finish.

Food and drink experiences have been redefined in 2020. We’re seeing a reset with eating out-of-home, which opens itself to opportunity to reimagine the dining experience. With snacking traditionally increased around Autumn/Winter, think about how you can offer your customers an ‘experience’ across all dayparts. From festive pop-ups to immersive experiences, how can we feel closer… whilst socially distanced of course!

We innately find comfort in what we know best, from traditional colours schemes, through to wellloved recipes. During lockdown, we embraced scratch cooking from skills to flavours and this is set to continue through the festive period. Operators do not have to overhaul the 2020 menu with new innovative ideas. Consumers want familiarity in their food and their flavours. Mince Pies are a winner this year – why not try the Country Range Mince Pie Filling and add your own customisable touch from a dash of rum to some cut up nuts.

As a nation we are already looking for some normality and this year Christmas and New Year will be centre stage. This is a season that means so much to so many, a time for coming together and enjoying the company of friends and family. With this being said there is still increasing uncertainty and anxiousness around eating out of home. Procedures and measures such as cleanliness, safety and social distancing are high on the agenda and are being scrupulously measured by consumers when visiting out of home operators. It is clear, however that the hospitality industry is doing something right and confidence with consumers is slowly returning.

With value high on the agenda for consumers, ensure your marketing message is communicated effectively. Why not develop a simple promotion to encourage visitors to dine at quieter times of the day. Family style sharing platters are a great way of adding value.

This season lends itself to increased demand for drinks, whether choosing a Christmassy cocktail or a comforting hot chocolate. Create a small themed drinks list that can be made quickly and still give guests that wow-factor.

How will you set the scene? Why not make the new inclusion of protective screens and PPE festive - a touch of tinsel and a Santa’s hat will go a long way this year!
