Obituary

Mildred Youngblood Smith of 704 West Virginia Avenue died Saturday, July 16, 2005 at Kings Mountain Hospital in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. She was born February 24, 1924 to the late Bertha and Lucia Youngblood in Gaston County, North Carolina. She was the wife of the late James Isaac Smith. Mrs. Smith served as a dietician at Gaston Memorial Hospital and retired after 37 years. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church where she was active in the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class, Senior Choir, Senior Mission, and Golden Year Seniors. Mildred Youngblood Smith was preceded in death, by her daughter, Billie Faye, and two brothers, Dewitt Youngblood and Roy Youngblood, and leaves to cherish her memories: One daughter, Kimberly S. Hunter (John Roy); two granddaughters Tiffany K. Smith and Frankie Maria Smith; four great grand children Bianca, Anthony, Jasmine, and Quayshon; two sisters, Elizabeth Jackson of Gastonia, NC and Virginia Ann Hoyle (Reverend Robert) of Charlotte, NC; brother Charles Youngblood of Gastonia, N.C.; two sisters in law, Alma Youngblood, and Earlene Youngblood; and host of other relatives and friends.
