Green Transportation Swiss Travel proudly owns and operates one of the largest and most modern fleets of touristic transportation units in Central America and Panamรก. Sustainability One of Swiss Travel most important operating pillars is sustainability. Being able to operate our business in a way that provides a solid foundation that will allow our country to remain as beautiful, breathtaking and attractive for future generations is one of our most valued objectives but also affecting as little as possible the environment and the communities involved. During the last few years, Swiss Travel has led a series of important environmental guidelines that have allowed our Corporation to obtain the coveted Certification for Touristic Sustainability (CST), by means of implementing good business practices based on the three pillar of sustainable tourism; the environment, our economic context and the our social and cultural surroundings. Having being awarded as a CST Corporation, guarantees every single one of our visitors that all our activities are conducted in a responsible manner, with our country, our communities and its individuals. We also promote sustainable practices from our business partners, expanding our efforts into a whole new dimension. For example, some of our business partners have implemented reforestation programs that compensate the exhaust emissions that their transportation units generate, creating a program that plants over 3.000 trees every year, contributing to reduce the greenhouse effect as well as global warming. Other programs in which these partners that have received recognition in the sustainability area involve certifications of Ecologic Blue Flag, through efforts taken to mitigate climate change.
