Wow your friends and family with these shimmering stellar creations

MAKE A BASIC FIVE POINTED STAR

l Lay the red star maker on card and trace around it five times, ensuring the template is the same side up. Line up the clear template over the drawn lines and trace through the cut-out shapes you want to use. With the scoring tool, mark through the grooves with the tip to make fold lines. l Clip the card at the intersection of the two inner points, cut out the shapes and fold along the scored lines, making the creases crisp with the bone folder side of the scoring tool. Use a craft knife and hole punch to cut out the traced motifs.

Pretty in Pink Create six shapes from pink pearl card. Mark the positions of the star and dot patterns on the wrong side of each and cut out. Fold and crease the lines and assemble as before. Cut two small pink discs from leftover card and glue to the centre of each side.

Gift of Gold Cut and score six shapes from gold metallic card. Fold and crease the lines before gluing the long side tabs to the other edge of each shape. Add a hanging loop to one. Glue the short tabs to the inside of the next point and leave to dry. Add the remainder in the same way. Open out the star and attach the final tabs inside the first point. Cut two small gold discs and fix to the centre of each side.

08

l Assemble each point by gluing the

long side tab to the other edge of the point and leave to dry completely, applying pressure with a few pegs if necessary. Add a long loop of thread for hanging to one of the sections. l Bend out the other two tabs of one section, apply glue and slot into the nontabbed side of the next point. Press the points flat and peg the join, allowing it to dry before attaching the next point in the same way. l Allow all the glued joints to dry fully before opening out the star, then glue the remaining tabs on the last point to the inside of the first.

Stamp the image onto white card and colour with Copic markers, taking care not to overlap the outline of the image. Trim and doodle different length dashes and dots inside the edge. Cut white card and fold to form a 14.8cm square card blank. Cut green checked paper, 13.8cm square and fold over 3cm of the top right-hand corner to reveal the other side of the paper. Attach to red card, trimming to leave a small border and position on the blank.

3

Combine printed papers, fir tree shapes and a cute stamped snowman and you're on the way to creating an enchanting seasonal treat. And colouring the image is easy peasy too, following Marianne Fisher's suggestions using Copic markers to create a smooth and flawless finish.

Trim holly paper, 9cm x 12cm. Attach, then position the image at the opposite angle. Die-cut the sentiment, then fix to the top right-hand corner, adding a red pearl over the letter as shown. Die-cut a tree using the smallest of the Joy tree dies and attach to the bottom left-hand corner. Create two more trees using the two largest shapes. Attach to the bottom right corner. Finish by adding three red pearls to the top left corner. CB

EASYinGREETINGS minutes! Whip up these Christmas makes in less than an hour. 3, 2, 1, GO!

Cheery Santa

Season's Greetings

Die-cut and emboss a red present border and attach to the bottom of a patterned blank. Make up a Santa decoupage, then fix above the presents. Secure a gold star to the top-right. Layer a sentiment onto red card and attach.

Trim hexagon paper so it is three shapes wide. Snip around the bottom row and layer onto a top-fold white blank. Tie pink ribbon around and fix a 'Season’s greetings' die cut centrally.

f Winter Wishes

Take a blank, 9cm x 15.5cm, and add a smaller layer of purple on top. Create blue patterned paper, 5cm x 14cm, with a ‘V’ at the bottom. Add purple over the top, so the excess hangs over the edge of the card. Die-cut a white tree, decorate and stick onto the card, adding a sentiment.

Full of Pun

Stamp the word 'Mistle-toad' onto white card. Above, fix an image of a toad with a hat and mistletoe. Colour in and add a shadow underneath the feet. Matt the image to the top of a blank. Cover the remainder with red snowflake paper and tie green ribbon around it.

Stitched Trees

Cover the front of a blank with blue paper. Cut watercolour paper to fit, and use a paintbrush to splatter blue, green and silver ink over it. Make three trees, trimming a straight top on two. Arrange at different levels and stitch in place. Stamp a greeting in the corner and decorate with stars.

Cute Cookies

Create a top-fold blank and cover with slightly smaller pink dotty paper. Die cut-nine stars from kraft card, then add pink card to the back of each. Arrange in a square at the top of a white panel, then stick down with 3-D foam pads. Add a sentiment and pink bow.

Cosy Cuppa

Cover the top part of a cream blank with Christmas patterned paper. Leave a 2cm gap, then cover the remainder with another

strip. Die-cut ‘Warm wishes’ from brown card and stick in the gap. Add a red button to the left, then tie with twine.

Tiny Tree

Make a tree using triangles made from green spotty paper and one from white. Stick blue card, 7.5cm x 9.5cm, to a top-fold blank, then attach the tree in the corner. Die-cut a circle from blue card and a smaller from white, then matt together. Stamp a sentiment in the middle before attaching.

Distress the edges of patterned paper and glue onto a top-fold blank, 14cm square. Distress the edges of snowflake paper, mount onto white card, then stick in the centre. Adhere lace and pale blue ribbon over the top. Use 3-D foam pads to attach a frosted tree, sentiment and snowflake die-cuts on the left.

MY WEEK...

EVERY DAY'S A SNOW DAY, AS STEPHANIE WEIGHTMAN MAKES HER CHRISTMAS CARDS

A Let it snow with these festive Tattered Lace dies JOYEUX NOEL This embossed greeting was created with the Joy and Noel Illuminated Letters, Pearl Square and Pin Dot Square die sets, D939 Holly plus green and mirrored cardstock. Fold the front of the card and tuck back, then matt with the die-cuts, mount a gold sentiment and finish with paper flowers.

s all my friends will tell you, I adore everything about Christmas, whether it's scouring the internet for gift ideas or making a mad dash to the shopping centre for the final elusive present! Amongst my favourite activities are decorating the tree, making a wreath and crafting a garland for the mantelpiece – but above all that, I love creating that special card for my husband to display. This year, I've decided to go for layered loveliness with this gorgeous winter scene card. It looks complicated, but it's really simple to put together, especially when you use Tattered Lace's Christmas Flectere die set and paper pads. Also comprising mirrored cardstock plus ribbon, holly and a white poinsettia, this high-impact card is perfect for your loved ones.

Make Your Own...

You can easily create a magical, multi-layered scene using the Christmas Flectere Winter Scene and Large Circles die sets, plus Christmas Flectere Scene and Charisma paper packs. Place a Circles 5 die-cut just over the fold of a 20cm square tent card to create a round shape, then matt with another circle in white. Use Circles 4 to prepare a silver mirror shape and layer over a circle made from Christmas Scene Paper 3, mounted on the front. Trim the bottom to create a flat edge, then construct two scenes, trees and reindeer using Flectere dies and Charisma papers. Top with a snowy layer of glitter and a creamy satin ribbon, fastened with a multiloop bow.

WINTER WONDERLAND Try a colourful twist on a traditional Victorian scene with the lovely Winter Wonderland and Essential Circles die sets. Tint your card in pale blue ink and layer with church and landscape die-cuts against a starry night background. Glitter the edges of the card for a subtle twinkle.
