Narrative On the above date and time, I responded to a 911 call from 5016 Whitaker Street, in reference to a Battery (Domestic Violence). Upon arrival at the aforementioned location, I made contact with Elizabeth Ann Poole (victim), who had contacted 911, and Shawn Lee Boots (defendant). I had to knock on the doors of a RV parked on the side of 5016 Whitaker Street several times before I could make contact with anyone inside of the RV. The defendant was the person who initially came to the door. The defendant's eyes were glassy, and a strong odor of alcohol was being emitted from his body. The defendant opened the door and blocked the doorway with his person. I requested to speak with Elizabeth and the defendant called back to the bedroom for her. Elizabeth appeared to be nervous and very quiet when she approached the door of the RV. The defendant immediately stated, "I didn't hit her." Elizabeth had a red mark on her right cheek, and I was able to observe several bruises on her left arm. Elizabeth indicated that the bruises came from when she fell out of the RV. I did contact dispatch and had them send me a copy of the 911 tape where Elizabeth indicated to the BCSO dispatcher that the defendant did strike her in the face and also threw her out of the RV causing her to receive abrasions to her arm. Elizabeth did indicate to Deputy Chad Rowswell that the defendant did strike her in the face and caused the abrasions to her arm. Elizabeth did refuse to provide a sworn statement in reference to the incident that occurred. Based on the information provided above, the defendant was placed in custody and transported to the Bay County Jail for the offense of Battery (Domestic Violence). Elizabeth's injuries were photographed, and a copy of the 911 recording along with the pictures were submitted into evidence to be attached to this report.
