Introduction
Hello there! This new Cotton & Cloud Spring-Summer 2013 Collection is my second collection of knitting pattern designs, and the first time I have presented them for sale as an e-book volume called: Fresh Inspiration Knitting Vol.1. My SS2013 Collection is all about fashionable, practical and feminine garments and accessories that will complement any type of outfit. My aim is always to produce designs that anyone can enjoy knitting and wearing as wardrobe favourites. One of the designs which has pleased me most is the adult’s Cable Yoke Jacket, knitted with Jamieson’s of Shetland Marl. This design was originally just for babies, but I had an avalanche of requests to create the pattern in adult sizes! And I was very happy to do that! The horizontal cable yoke is slightly widened, with additional cables, but I have kept all other design elements the same, retaining the original whimsical style that was so popular. Now that knitters have access to designs from so many different countries, the international knitting community really is becoming a ‘global village’. Therefore, in this collection I have used some of the wonderful yarns available from both the UK and the USA, like Scrumptious Aran yarn by Fyberspates Ltd., a first-rate British yarn which I choose for the modern Japanese cardigan, Temari. This silk-blend yarn was the perfect choice for a cardigan design inspired by the traditional Japanese children’s play ball made of silk thread. And from the USA, I chose beautiful Alpaca Elegance from Green Mountain Spinnery, for the feminine, seamless country-casual Uxbridge Cardigan. Finally, I was delighted to discover Sexy from The Buffalo Wool Co. which was the perfect yarn for my nature-inspired Prairie half-circular shawl. This soft and light yarn is a silk-blend, bison-hair yarn. I do hope you will enjoy knitting, wearing and gifting garments from the new Cotton & Cloud Spring-Summer 2013 Collection, just as much as I enjoyed creating them!
