Corillo Magazine Interview: James Egbert “My New Album...is just a little bit By David Garcia
We recently had a conversation with James Egbert, currently living in Denver, Colorado, about future projects and what the upcoming new year may hold for his career as a musician within the Electronic music genre. James Egbert has been around music his whole life, coming from parents who were also musicians starting his interest in music at a very young age. Before James even turned 6, he was already performing in front of large crowds. The decision to become a full-time musician came at the age of 18, when James Egbert began working as a producer and engineer in famous recording studios in Orange County, California. He later moved to Denver, Colorado, where he presently lives along side his wife. James Egbert, now 23, took some time out of his busy schedule to answer a couple of our questions for the magazine.
What Future Projects Are You Currently Working On?

and it will be available exclusively on Beatport before the new year. I've been producing their music for the past few years before I decided upon starting my own career as an artist, so we have a wonderful relationship, and I'm positive this remix will do really well for both of us. The other remix is for a new project by DJ Poet, The Black Eyed Peas producer and DJ, and the track is called ‘Digital’. I'm really excited about this remix as it's moving towards the musical direction of my new album, which is just a little bit grittier and perhaps more mature than the Blackhawk EP. I'm not sure of any release date on that remix yet though.”
Where Would You Like To Tour In Latin America?
“I could easily see a large part of my future involving touring to Latin nations. I know my “As far as future projects are concerned, I've sound owes a lot to Brazilian Electro House, and got two new finished unreleased remixes that I'm in my opinion some of the best Electro comes sitting on right now. One is a track called ‘Party from Brazilian artists, so I definitely want to get On’ by a band called Blood On The Dance Floor, down to Brazil at some point and see what their scene is all about. There's a number of other places I'd love to tour though like Buenos Aires, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and Mexico.”
Would You Work With Latin Artists, If So, With Who? “To be honest, I don't really listen to much music outside of what I create, so I'm not really aware of very many Latin artists, but there are some very talented vocalists out there, and I'd love to eventually do some sort of collaboration along that line. I've really enjoyed the Tiesto remix of "Manos al Aire" by Nelly Furtado, and hearing that remix gave me an openness to the idea of an EDM producer like me working with a Latin artist. As I said, my wife is really into Latin culture and particularly Spanish culture, so I hear most of my Latin music through her, and a few artists that have really stuck out to me include
Chambao and Bebe. I think the vocalists from either project are very unique and interesting to me, and I think there would be much potential with more of an EDM track with either.”
When Do You Plan On Releasing Your Next Album? “At the current moment, I'm exclusively working on original material for my new album. I haven't officially announced a title or release date for the album, but my current plans for it include 6 original tracks with 4 remixes. The overall plans may change for the album, but I'm hoping for an early 2012 release for it.” At the end of our interview with James Egbert, we received word of upcoming freebies that will be available through our website and it’s affiliates. Jose O. Cotto, known to the music industry as Hyde ‘El Verdadero Quimico’ was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on December 26th, 1981. The talented producer showed promise in music from a very young age. His career as a producer blossomed as he began pumping out mix tapes and working with different artists within the urban latin genre known as Reggaeton.
