A stubborn Manchester defended tightly at the back during first half frustrating Lions as they stopped them at playing their normal creative gameplay from midfield.

With Lions already starting the season without a goal, and having lost to Gibraltar United Manchester's strong defensive play, and Lions seeming lack of ideas to get into the penalty area saw Lions were forced to opt to shooting from outside the area to their detriment. Manchester for their part were content in breaking forward on the counter attack

14th January 2016 whenever they could, showing that they posed a real threat, after two strikes on target which forced saves from the Lions keeper.

The first half finished scoreless immediately on resuming play Manchester had a goal disallowed for offside showing that they posed a threat upfront.

With Manchester keeping their structure at the back Lions continued to be held back in the last quarter, unable to reach goal.

Manchester continued their gameplan with quick breaks, forcing Lions to run back as they reached the opposition penalty area, with the Lions keeper again keeping Lions

goal intact for the time being.

It was only when Manchester started to step forward and actually take the game to Lions that the clearest chance did eventually come for Lions, on a break. Macedo, who returned to the Manchester side was forced to parry from close range, pushing the ball across goal as Lions number nine broke through the one man defence left from theri attack.

Manchester returned to keep their game of frustrating the opposition and after several controversial calls and cards the focus turned to the Lions bench as a frustrated manager reacted to both the crowd and comments from the opposition bench. The

manager voicing his views on the referees performance. After several warnings the Lions manager was given his marching orders, confronting the fourth official as he left the pitch.

The off-the-field mood of Lions soon translated to the Lions team who crumbled under the pressure and frustrations caused by Manchester's tactics.

Within minutes Lions crumbled at the back with Manchester scoring. Lopez who had just come on four minutes earlier slotting the ball past the keeper as he broke through the Lions flank and into the area.

The goal saw the match open up as Lions pressed

Although Lions seemed to have most of the possession of the ball, and maintained pressure on Manchester, it was Manchester's attacks that posed the most threats to goal, forcing several good saves and interventions from the Lions Polish keeper.

As frustration deepened within the Lions ranks, an unnecessary harsh tackle from Green at the edge of the Manchester penalty area saw the official hand a yellow, and as players pushed each other, the red card for his second yellow was shown to the same player.

With Lions now on the back foot Manchester opted to bring in JP Duarte onto the pitch after several weeks of absence. The match soon turned into a scrappy affair to Manchester's delight, Lions

losing the focus and looked the least likely to score.

Manchester gained three valuable points, their second consecutive victory. Lions remained scoreless losing further valueable points.

Europa

lose ground at the top

T

he few enthusiasts and supporters of Europa and St Joseph's attending the Victoria Stadium this Sunday were treated to an exciting and surprising match which saw Europa drop three valueable points in their attempt to keep within distance of Lincoln. St Joseph's took the lead within the first quarter of an hour, only to see them losing it as Europa pushed forward and equalised. As the first half was coming to an end, St

Joseph's scored a second putting further pressure on Europa. With tensions rising, and St Joseph's threatening in their counterattacks, a break away from St Joseph's saw Europa lose one of their players for a tackle from behind to break the attack. With just ten men Europa's match was destined to be an uphill struggle. Coming out for the second half, Europa did not hesitate in attacking St Joseph who were content in standing back and playing on the counter attack. Such was the pressure from the ten man Europa, that even the St Joseph's bench could be heard calling on their players to push up more as it seemed it was "them with one player less." Europa's pressure, however, left them vulnerable at the back exposing their flanks. Although St Joseph's counter attacked their lack of foresight to use the right flank meant that Europa were able to contain the attacks. It was only as the match reached its finale that an over exposed Europa defence found itself on the backfoot with three St Joseph's players breaking through with no defence in position. Inevitably the breakthrough ended in St Joseph's slotting in their third. The defeat means that Europa are now six points behind Lincoln, with the title now exclusively in the hands of Lincoln who have yet to lose a match this season.

Lincoln show they can win even with ten men on the field

14th January 2016

Lincoln demonstrated the reasons why they continue at the top of the table scoring in the very first few minutes of the match against a Lynx side who showed no fear of facing the champs. Although having lost 4-0 in their first encounter this season, Lynx came out attacking with the very first attacking ball coming from Lynx. However, the tables were turned within seconds when Chipolina struck from the left flank hitting the ball squarely past Robba's furthers top corner. Lynx responded by taking the match to Lincoln, the new number ten from Algeciras Santos making his debut show his strength in running by joining with Doxagarat to threaten Lincoln's penalty area. In a match full of intensity Lynx were not frightened of Lincoln and pressed them up front giving Lincoln few chances to venture forward or control the game under their terms during the first half. Lincoln started the second half imposing their rhythm to the game playing fast across wings and controlling possession. End to end battle was seen, although Lincoln started to control possession

and started to make Lynx chase the ball. Lynx who needed to score were caught on the counter on numerous occasions, only for them to counter themselves. Exciting match as Lynx continued to defend solidly and press on Lincoln trying break their game and play their own style. The match seemed to have reached a turning point when Casciaro (R) was send off after pulling down a player breaking through onto goal and getting his second yellow. With just sixteen minutes to go it seemed Lynx, who were playing their own power game would have the advantage with Lincoln one man short. Instead of holding back Lincoln seemed to have been injected with new determination and instead continued their game plan forcing Lynx to chase the ball. Cabrera broke down left running into area and striking it past Robba for the 2-0, a second goal that seemed to break the spirits of Lynx who had battled hard for the equaliser. Moments later Robba was lucky that an attempt to lob the ball over him fell straight into his hands. The match came to an end with Lincoln taking all three points and maintaining their lead at the top with their 2-0 win, even with ten men. Even with Lincoln riding high the week ended with speculation over the future of Anthony Bardon. Reports emerged that he will be leaving the current reigning champions with both the player and the club coming to a mutual agreement for his release. Lincoln had already announced that exMalaga left winger Antonio Calderon has officially become a Lincoln player.

Britannia keep Angels in relegation trouble

T

he Britannia v Angels match did not bring many surprises, accentuating the deficiencies in Angels which is likely to see them relegated directly as they seemed incapable of turning around Britannia.

The only surpise in the Angels Britannia match was the player agent for St Joseph present at the match with a Korean player in tow who is believed to be joining Britannia'

Angels started play with their backs to the wall. It took Britannia just ten minutes before they broke through and Onega slotted the first in with ease. The ease in scoring the first seemed to slow down Britannia, rather than excite them, becoming unconvincing with Angels taking advantage of Britannia's lack of enthusiasm in trying to break through again. Angels pushed forward for most of the next

part of the first half, and it was not until Ten mins in breaking through Britannia beats angels defence line to slot it in with ease

After scoring first Britannia had a spell of not convincing with angels trying to take advantage and pushing Britannia back. It was not until Alt dribbled past several defenders at the edge of the box, and run into the penalty area to "dink" the ball past Mateo that Britannia didn't seem to wake up again. A 2-0 scoreline at half time was as predictable as you could get a scoreline. The half time break did little for Britannia who came out with a lack of intensity and saw Angels push them back, not through efficiency but through the lack of effort in Britannia's play. Britannia had most of the possession but their characteristic power pace and running game was not seen opting for a slower build up. This suited Angels keeping the score down.

Angels had a few hitting the crossbar and several wide shots at goal.

As the match went on and Britannia saw that they were actually being pushed back into their own area, due mainly to their own game play which was allowing Angels to play, Britannia responded hitting the post and then having a ball cleared off the line.

The score was brought to a more reasonable realistic score, considering the strengths of Britannia against that of Angels with Onega once again breaking through the right flank and scoring from inside the six yard box. The final score, Britannia 3-0 Angels.

Gib Utd take relegation safety points

In a match in which Glacis United and Gibraltar United battled for valueable points which would keep them safe from relegation, it was Gibraltar United who came out the winner. A hard drawn out battle between two of the bottom clubs saw end to end excitement, harsh tackling, two very different styles of football, and 12 yellow cards.

It was Gibraltar who scored the first. Pressing up front and pushing Glacis back whilst not having possession forced the first error of Glacis who conceded a foul. A swinging ball going across goal saw Glacis clawing for the ball unsuccessfully, with Robert Montovio coming in at the back post and volleying the ball into the back of the net.

Glacis maintained possession as Gibraltar United tightened at the back to keep them out. The first half finished with Gibraltar

14th January 2016 United ahead.

The second half started much in the same way as the first had finished, with Glacis pushing forward, Gibraltar United defending in block, and Glacis missing the few chances they had.

Once again a quick break from the back for Gib Utd led to another corner. A beautifully placed cross was headed in to the top corner with Gib Utd taking the lead to 2-0.

From this point on it was backs to the wall for Gib Utd, who defended in block and kept their attacks to break -aways. As time went on Glacis United seemed to slowly lose their grip on the game with their players arguing amongst each other. Most notable was the goalkeepers argument with his coach . A seemingly injured keeper called on his bench to substitute him the refusal to do so saw the player shout at his bench, "or me saca o me voy" (you either replace me or I leave". The argument then continued as the player approached the touchline to speak to his manager as play went on.

Gibraltar United for its part were unable to make anything out of the disruption in the Glacis team, instead they seemed to defend in total chaos, swarming on players. The tensions and tough tackling between both teams lead to a flurry of yellow cards, 12 in total shown during the match. One of them going to Glacis goalkeeper who had started to argue with Montovio within earshot of the referee, further adding to his woes. The keeper playing as if a sweeper, rather than a keeper positioning himself whilst Glacis attacked close to the halfway line, more than once caught out as Gib Utd tried to unsuc-

cessfully lob the ball over him.

Glacis eventually broke through following a flying save by El Chino, Gibraltar United's keeper. A shot from outside the area saw the keeper stretching to make a one-handed save and conceding a corner. A sweetly struck corner received a similar strike to the top corner reducing Gibraltar United lead to just one goal. Gib Utd were able to hold on by the skin of their teeth to take all three points. The winner knowing that they were securing their place against their closest league rivals at the bottom of the table. Gibraltar United are now nine points clear of Glacis Utd. The postponed match between the two earlier in the season now less significant as Gibraltar widened the gap between the two.

Rock Cup Brunos Convince in First half to take it

It was a game of two halves for Brunos Magpies. The first half the Magpies controlled the pace of the game and were the more aggressive of the two. Their determination and pace paying off well as they scored three in the first 45 minutes. Half time seemed to have zapped the energy out of the Magpies as Cannon took possession of the match and took one goal back. The magpies were being caught in defence by the Cannons who pushed them back. However, with the rain pouring down, and as the minutes ticked players seemed to become more and more demoralised, the Magpies held on to win 3-1 and enter the next round.

Transfer Market moves

After impressing in trials Europa have also signed left back Alejandro Vazquez Sotorrio "Alex Vazquez". The 32 year old Asturian has played for Sporting Gijon, Levante and Alicante amongst others. Pesto Pinazo Arias, a 28 year old from Malaga who has played for Elche, Malaga and Cadiz joins Lions from Greek side Panachaiki. Thomas laguea from Glacis joins Gibraltar

Utd, whilst Kenneth Chipolina from Lincoln joins Red Imps alongside Tarik Chayed. Naranjo Rodriquez leaves Europa. Ex-Malaga left winger Antonio Calderon has officially become a Lincoln player after his starring performance in the Champions League qualifiers in the summer when he helped the club get into the second round. Toni Espinosa from CD La Union joins Bruno Magpies as a centre back.

Football Interview 14th January 2016

I am as thick skinned as can be!

A

Interview with Bruno Magpies Head Coach Joel Richard William

ll sports have their colourful characters, and football is no different. One of these emerging characters is Joel Richard Williams, for many the editor/publisher of 5point4, for others the head coach of second division Bruno Magpies.

love him or hate him Joel very much represents a changing face of football in which the endeavours of characters such as him will bring some of the changes.

As head coach of Brunos he is one of a handful of local managers still left on our fields. His style of management from the touchline has seen him gain friends and Neither role necessarily brings to him great enemies, but it’s a style that throughout the friends, but one cannot disguise the fact that past few months, in his first stint as head click here to see full gallery collection in our website

coach, has seen his side change, and only this week brush aside another second division side from the Rock Cup to get to the next stage.

if a division two side, can reach the European rounds which means a substantial cash incentive do you think teams are taking the cup games more seriously?

In his role as reporter for 5point4, Joel has gained a reputation for Joel - I can't speaking out his speak for other mind, and saying it teams but I can as it is, even though guarantee that this has not been as head coach met by smiles from of FCB Magpies everyone. His I will always put 5point4 online the strongest publication causing team available enough waves to to me at every have already seen game, whether 18,000 likes in his it's a cup game facebook page (not or a league an easy feat even for marketing gurus's in game. Football is about winning games, so Gibraltar.) for all I'm concerned we could be playing a friendly and I'll still want to win We caught up with Joel after the Brunos cup regardless of the opposition. I agree that tie against Cannon, not an easy feat in itself, now, perhaps with Europa League places with the first scheduled interview being up for grabs the Rock Cup is an attractive postponed after Joel demonstrated what proposition and I guess each team will came first, his team rather than his own look at it that way; I know I certainly do! exposure to the public. Core - Magpies won their first cup experience with you as manager. On hindsight would you Core - This was your first cup experience as have done things differently? first team manager. How did it feel? Joel - At all. We won the game and Joel - It was an exciting game for myself reached the next round and the most and also the team as we got our first taste pleasing aspect of this for me was that we of cup football for the year. For me utilised the squad. The season is a long personally it was great, just like it is any one so rotating is key if you want to keep other game, to be on the touchline and live players fit and healthy and we did just that vs Cannons and it paid dividends. I this experience I'm currently living. couldn't be any happier if I'm honest... Core- Now that the Rock Cup winners, even click here to see full gallery collection in our website

14th January 2016

Core - The magpies seemed to collapse and fall flat when it came to focusing on the game in the second half? Any reason why this happened?

Joel - I agree wholeheartedly with you that our second half performance was poor in comparison to the first. We still created plenty of chances but couldn't quite find the net so this did put a dent on our brilliant first half performance. We have to be careful with these situations and if Cannon's had been sharper on the day we could well be speaking about a defeat today. The reasons? I think tired legs started kicking in, perhaps players grew overconfident with the comfortable result we had and started forgetting the basics of football. This has been addressed in our training sessions this week so hopefully we won't succumb to these mistakes again...

Core - Considering this was against a second division side, now that you might meet a first division side next what do you expect your team to do better?

Joel - It's actually quite funny but I think we tend to struggle against the "so called" smaller sides and its trickier to negotiate ties like these because the team, as previously mentioned, might get overconfident and, lose focus and forget the basics of our style of football. We did show in pre season that playing against the big boys doesn't faze us and the result we had against Lions raised plenty of eyebrows. What playing "big team" does to us is actually positive: we focus much more on the game and play the football we know we can play! Core - The Magpies seem set not to rise this season to the first division unless some results change. Will this be a setback for you?

14th January 2016 Joel - Promotion was not on the cards this season although media pundits around Gibraltar actually were very generous when they tipped us as promotion candidates. Of course it would be incredible if we did get promoted and even been in the mix for promotion is a sweet feeling for Magpies and their loyal hardcore fans. We can't forget our roots though and where this club was last year; In my point of view this year was always a transitional year, the year in which we implemented our philosophies, our style of play and acted responsibly within our limits . I like to compare this project with the construction of a house; the foundations have to be created for the house to be stable and this is exactly the same thing. The foundations are been laid as we speak and I'm of the view that before running we should learn how to crawl. Step by step, things have to be done right in order to progress and if this means one more year in Second Division then so be

it.

Core - Will you be building on your first managerial season experience and stay with the Magpies?

Joel - Like I said previously, this is a long term project. I'm lucky enough to have a chairman who shares the same views as myself and is determined and keen to do things right. It is essential to have continuity in a football team so it's a definite yes from me. I'm absolutely loving every minute of this challenge... Core - How tough is it, with some teams seemingly investing heavily to reach the first division? Or are you one of those teams yourselves considering the seemingly resolute backing from your board of directors?

Joel - Football is money, let's not kid ourselves here! Where ever there is money players will go and sign and with

from opposing coaches; that is ultimately what counts for me!

Core - You personally are heavily involved in 5point4, which we understand is your little baby. But what comes first, the team or your personal job? As a publisher, and one who does not aim to be just the nice guy, but the one who says it as it is, I take it this gets you a lot of negative reactions to you. How do you balance being a manager and having to do a job which doesn't necessarily get you friends Core - Will we be seeing many changes for all the time? this next stage of the season? Joel - Now that is a question I was hoping Joel - Changes are part and parcel of to avoid (he laughs). It's a question of football although, like I have said before, having the ability to change hats whenever continuity is key and essential in a football the occasion dictates. When I write I team. Those teams who regularly chop always strive to be honest in everything I and change managers or players might portray whether it has been a positive succeed in the short term but those result for my team or a negative one. I foundations will never whether the storms personally don't shy away from this and approaching, metaphysically speaking. I have, after every defeat congratulated the don't envisage many changes, I'm opposing team. When I coach I have my delighted with the group of players we coaching hat on. One must balance the have and although there have been tweaks thin line between being a manager and a during the season, it is only natural when journalist...It's a tricky one but one I'm players leave. Do you mind? aim of highlighting local sports personalities across all fields of sport. Joel - I am as thick skinned as can be! I have received threats and insults due to my journalism career so it doesn't really faze me when people shout from the stands. Most of the time those people who do shout abuse or negative comments from the stands are those people who only wish they were able to do what you do! I am very vociferous and outspoken, I have conducted my journalism career in a similar fashion and there are those who will mock this approach but the vast majority will, in fact, respect the job one does. 10 km Flat Race Starting at Devils Tower Road athletes raced up to Both Worlds before turning back down into Devils Towers Road and through Winston Churchill Avenue. The start of the rae saw some runners sprint ahead pushing the lines immediately. On reaching the sundial on the return round the gap between runners had widened substantially, a lack of traffic around the Sundial assisted officials in keeping the race going smoothly without too much disruption. Runners continued into Line Wall Road, down past Ragged Staff Gate and through Queensway before completing the race at the old Victoria Stadium exit by Bayside Road.

Could Perico be Lions new investment into the future? Lions this week announced the signing of Perico, formerly of Greek side Panachaiki F.C., a second division side.

Perico was this year listed as unattached in a transfer market website since December 3rd, the same website also showing that in the last three years he has been involved in several free transfers. Having gone from Elche to Gimnastic, Cadiz, and Larissa before ending up at Panachaiki F.C., where he played in midfield. The Greek side have this winter let go nine of their players, actively involved in the transfer market.

Perico's record could be hailed a shrewd financial acquisition for the future of Lions, not just a football acquisition. Valued at £175,000 in the transfer market, once having been valued at £560,000, Perico is the type of investment that if his performances set sights on him for future interest by outside clubs, the sale of the player could provide a foundation block into the future for Lions.

Whilst the team highlight the interest in the player in football terms, the presence of new owners, once themselves at the centre of an attempt to buy Leeds United makes the acquisition of Perico's as an interesting focal point into Lions development and intent for the future. Something the new owners highlighted in the summer when taking over the club.

The finals

Blue Stars win Under 14 Basketball

The Blue stars Under 14 started the week well for Blue Stars taking the first of the many finals Blue Stars teams would be playing. Both Europa and Blue Star started the match with a low scoring ratio during the first quarter, with the score at 42 for Blue stars before the second quarter started. A quick pep talk suddenly saw the Blue Stars explode into action and running away with the lead 21-4. Europa found it hard to find the basket, with Blue Stars giving away few chances and taking most of the possession of play.

The under 14 matches, although a tactical nightmare for the coaches as they have to ensure no one player plays more than 3 consecutive quarters was well managed by both managers, although the Blue Stars with the smaller in Height numbers on the court maintained a good composure and assurance in their play across all zones.

The Blue Stars eventually won by 37-18 taking the first of the basketball trophies this week. click here to see full gallery collection in our website

The finals

Blue Stars become Under 18 champions

The depth in strength of Blue Stars, with a bench twice the number of the Bayside Argus team themselves proved to be as significant as the fact that Blue Stars are an established Basketball team across all categories. The match started with the first few minutes proving tense game with quick passing and attacks but neither team giving way keeping the score level between the two. Blue Stars soon settled enough to ensure that on the 5th minute they had created a small gap between themselves and Bayside on the

scoreboard. They maintained the slender lead playing quick passes as opposed to Bayside who relied more on individual skills to get to the basket. This proved effective for Bayside on many occasions as they could get under the basket more whilst Blue Stars were frequently forced to seek long throws to basket when the Bayside defence was in place. The First quarter saw Blue stars lead by 18-17. In the second quarter Blues Stars kept their slender lead, Bayside responding shot for

shot and pressing forward with confidence. However, the reliance on individual skill more than a global team approach saw Blue stars begin to press harder on Bayside and extended their lead to 39-29. In the third quarter Bayside fell back on the scoreboard and saw Blue Stars take the dominant role in the match. The widening gap in the scoreboard saw Blue Stars start playing a player further forward on occasions. They tore away from defence into attack placing themselves 30 points in front at times as

they countered with quick wide passed forward. Bayside showing great strength to maintain a rhythm trying to catch up but unable to do so as the match entered the latter stages. The third quarter ended in 6840. Bayside took advantage in the last quarter of the Blues Stars own confidence in trying to play more freestyle with some creative passing. Blue Stars used their bench to good effect, but even with Bayside tiring they continued to shorten the distance on the scoreboard, only seeing it widen again as in the last minutes Blue Star saw some of the stronger players fielded, already refreshed. The final score being 80-65 to Blue Stars.

League leaders Glacis united were far too strong for Boca Juniors in this match of the Rock Cup, at least on paper at first. Boca maintained their zones well, reducing Glacis attack during the first 16 minutes. Glacis scored in the six minute their first. Within the next four minutes of the match there were three up. Boca Juniors played with their backs to the wall, but the momentum of Glacis was enough to play at a slower pace than their normal. The score ending 10-2.

Titans more of a Titanic than Herculean against Lynx

L

ynx were by far the better of the two teams. Having reached 9-0 in the early part of the second half they slowed down their normal fast passing game giving the Titans all the opportunity to score. Lynx failing to provide themselves with a scoring chance for some 8 mins before notching their tenth.

Lynx who came to the match after being beaten by Glacis played to their own strengths, and did not allow Gibraltar Titans to decide the pace. The pairing of Lynx verses Gibraltar Titans, showed the difference between divisions. A herculean effort to shorten the score saw the Titans score once. Lynx nonetheless came out winners by 15-1.

Collegians veterans fall to Grammarians boys in cup game click here to see full gallery collection in our website

areth Flower, making his return to hockey stood out as the lone man of experience in a Grammarians B side with school kids across the field of play.

The cup game was to turn out to be the men against the boys, but it was the boys who eventually came out on top.

Collegians were like watching the 90's Gibraltar hockey league return to the sport with the veteran team fielding players whose heyday was back in the 90's, many themselves having come up from the boyhood ranks to play European hockey.

decision left Collegians claiming wrongdoing. The veterans were not to be outclassed and soon came back with an equaliser from a short corner. Grammarians boys, having lost the lead pushed forward and scored again, and the again to bring the game to three one.

The boys, playing on their strength soon found that the veterans were not going to play ball and through power play, skill and tactical bullying brought the score to 3-2 at half time.

Another veteran from the 90's Nathan Stagno, now a world renowned umpire was also on the bench but representing Grammarians

boys. The second half started with Stagno becoming a focal point as he disputed rulings by the umpires. As the off-field play saw Grammarians boys complaining of decisions it was the veterans who took advantage. A miss hit by Adrian Hernandez trickling in to the back of the goal for the equaliser. As both teams seemed to be heading to a draw it was Grammarians who forced play to slot one in for the winner. The veterans losing out to their own mistakes of taking their eye of the ball after a failed short corner, and whilst arguing amongst themselves the boys scoring the winning goal.

The first chance of the game came to the boys from a short corner. Soon after Collegians had their chance. The skill and experience of veterans beating the pace of youthfulness in an attempt at goal. This was to be the main format of the match as boys and men clashed head to head at an equal basis, neither underestimating the other, or feeling intimidated by the other.

Hawks too strong on the day

14th January 2016

Six nil up after half time, Hawks ladies slowed down to a near halt, but not enough to let Grammarians girls continue to feel the experience of being hammered by experience.

Grammarians Girls, who were once Hawks, were presented with a lesson in how experience, discipline and power play can out play enthusiasm and pace on the day. Grammarians had to field a weaker side than normal due to some players, including their keeper missing on the day.

Brave though they were, the young Grammarians team were no match to Hawks who controlled the pace of the game throughout, to the point of pushing forward and scoring when they felt they had laid back too much. The Grammarians girls were, however, no walk over, keeping on tapping at the door throughout the match, although unable to score.

Stick to stick the veteran ladies from Hawks had greater power and skill, discipline across the pitch, overcoming the opposition by setting the pace and playing across the field rather than running after the ball. Grammarians found themselves chasing not just the match but the ball. An 8-0 score line told the whole story of what the match was all about on the day.

The score line on the day did not reflect the quality of the Grammarians girls who have held the Hawks to 1-0 in the past, however, they were outplayed and outclassed on the day by the sheer power play of Hawks who should be justly credited for a superb performance.

Credit should also be given to Hawks keeper who played throughout injured. The keeper, who did not have too much to do in many parts of the game, was found to be very static. especially towards the end of the match. CoreSportGib has since learnt that the keeper is now out injured and on crutches after sustaining a leg injury just moments into the start of the match.
