IX Festival Corearte Barcelona 2015 COREARTE International festival is pleased to invite you to participate in their IX annual International Choir Festival “COREARTE BARCELONA” taking place in Barcelona city and surrounding areas from the 19th – 25th of October, 2015. Participation in this non-competitive event is open to all types of choirs and vocal groups. Participants will have an opportunity to perform at various venues of cultural interest as well as attending practical, educational workshops with renowned guest maestros.

Participation, deadlines & Pre-Registration Choirs wishing to participate in the IX International Choir Festival COREARTE Barcelona 2015, should submit the following:  Registration Form correctly filled in and submitted within the stipulated deadlines.  Brief resume of the Choir and Director.  CD of a recent concert or rehearsal with at least three pieces from choir repertoire.  Recent photograph of group with director.

Registration Each individual member of the group must pay 480€ (four hundred and eighty euros) as a pre-registration and registration fee. Registration includes the following:  Documentation  Accommodation at four-star hotels in triple rooms in Santa Susanna (Barcelona)  Half Board accommodation (breakfast and one other daily meal according to activity programme)  Workshops.  Concerts in venues acoustically apt for Choral Music.  Rehearsal space for groups.  Participants Guide with Festival and workshop material, and tourist information.  Certificates of Festival and Workshop participation. Registration does not include:  Airline tickets  Transportation during the Festival (see Transport section) .  Entrance fees to museums, tours and other cultural activities or recreational .

Pre-registration Relevant documents and payments must be received by the deadlines stated below:

REGISTRATION FORM Must be sent via email before May 30th, 2015

REGISTRATION FORM CONFIRMATION The Organization will reply to each application before the June 10th, 2015, informing applicants of the outcome and whether they have been selected to participate in the festival or not.

1ST PAYMENT Once the choir has been accepted to participate in the 2015 Festival, 30% of the total registration fee and a full list of choir members and companions must be sent to the organization. This payment and required information must be received by June 20th, 2015.

2ND PAYMENT Before August 20th, 2015 a further 30% of the registration fee must be received, bringing the total payment made by this date to 60% of the total registration fee. The repertoires for each group performance must be received before the September 1st, 2015. The list of group member participants must be confirmed by this date as no modifications will be accepted afterwards.

3RD PAYMENT The remaining 40% of the registration fee must be received by the organization upon arrival at the hotel on the October 19th, 2015.

Workshops The choral-song workshops are considered by COREARTE to be one of the most important elements in our festival program. The workshops will give participants the opportunity to work with well-known and internationally respected maestros whilst sharing joint-rehearsals with the other participants. The workshops will take place in 4 sessions and add a total of 15 hours of training. A general rehearsal will take place before the Festival Gala Concert where pieces worked on during the workshops will be performed.

Activities Included in the Festival’s scheduled activities are visits to some of Barcelona´s tourist attractions such as the Montserrat Abbey, Gaudi’s Temple of the Sagrada Familia, the famous Barcelona Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter, among many more… These activities had been programmed to fit in between the Festival performances so that participants and companions can visit the city and surrounding areas. Further details will be provided as they become available.

Accomodation Accommodation will be provided for all participating choirs at four star hotels (50km from Barcelona city). Participants will share triple rooms allocated by the organization. Allocation will be on a first-come, first-served basis, by order of inscription. Double rooms will also be made available to group members so wishing upon payment of an additional 80€ (eighty euros) per person. Single rooms will also be made available to group members so wishing upon payment of an additional 180€ (hundred eighty euros) per person.

Meals Meals provided throughout the Festival and included with the accommodation: breakfast and one other meal (either lunch or evening meal) depending on the scheduled activity for that day. Groups arriving before the inauguration dinner on Monday the 19th of October or leaving after the farewell breakfast on Sunday the 25th of October will be individually responsible for additional board (accommodation and meals).

Transfers Choirs not travelling in their own transport (coach) can request a cost estimate from COREARTE for all transfers for the duration of the Festival. Coach requests must be made to COREARTE before the August 30th, 2015.

Program The program is provisional. Depending on registered number of choirs, dates and locations may be changed. October 2015 Monday 19th: Welcoming workshops and dinner. Tuesday 20th: Tour to Montserrat and workshops. Wednesday 21th: Workshops, visit to Barcelona and concert at night Thursday 22th: Workshops and visit to Barcelona Friday 23th: Workshops. Concert in Barcelona at night. Saturday 24th: Workshops and closing concert and Gala Party Sunday 25th: Breakfast and departure of the delegations

Concerts The scenarios used to conduct the concerts, had been chosen for their acoustic and visual qualities, in addition to their wealth cultural and architectural. There is no a better opportunity to sing in some of the most beautiful and most visited places in Barcelona like: Montserrat abbey, the University of Barcelona, The Auditorium and the Santa Maria del Pi Basilica.

Cancellations Registration fees paid by participants are non-refundable should the participant cancel after June 20th, 2015 .In cases of cancellation, the vacant place is transferable; it can be used by another member of the choir or by a companion.

Insurance The Festival Organization has the obligatory Civil Responsibility Insurance covering the event. However, the organization will not be responsible in case of accident or illness that may occur during the Festival. As a result, all participants are required to travel with individual insurance. Likewise, the organization will not be responsible for any flight, train or other transport cancellations reserved by individual participants
