The 1st inning started off slow for both teams as the Blazers were able to muster just one run. In the 2nd inning the bats warmed up for both teams. The Blazers scored five runs and the Rockets scored three

runs. The Foxy Rockets were able to score five runs in the 3rd inning, but the Blazers defense, led by Janae Ruiz, did not allow another run the final two innings. The Blazers bats were on fire in those same three innings scoring eighteen runs to end the game. Offensively the Blazers were led by Sydney Contreras (3-5, HR), Daniella Hinojos (3-5), Trinity Olsen (2-4), Janae Ruiz (2-5, HR), Emma Alvarado (2-5, 2 HR), and Tara Lorona (2-5). On the mound for this game was Daniella Hinojos (7K/3W/4ER), who pitched a complete game. This Wednesday night the Blazers will host the Lightning at 7 p.m. and Foxy Rockets at 8:30 p.m. at the Hayden Little League Field.

With top NCAA Division I athletes and professionals from both the NBA and Europe, the TSPL is great summer basketball for players and fans of all ages. The area youth really enjoyed the basketball camp and said even though they went home tired, they

Page 11 learned a great deal and had a lot of fun. Clarissa Gonzales said she loves basketball and this was a great two days for her, while Jennifer Gregorich said it was very fun but a lot of work. At the end of the Hayden camp, the youth were presented with awards for specific abilities and skills. Each participant received a water bottle, jersey, basketball, backpack, a team picture and individual picture with the two

keynote counselors. Corporate sponsor Asarco also held a drawing for two silver coins. Corey Williams and Carl Graham were patient and accommodating in autographing items for the youth.
