Oracle Community Center to host spaghetti dinner fundraiser for music scholarships Oracle, AZ – Can’t stand the heat? Get out of the kitchen! Come to the Oracle Community Center (OCC) and be well fed, and entertained instead. The OCC is sponsoring a Spaghetti Dinner fund raiser to benefit the Oracle Womens Network’s (OWN) music scholarship on May 17 at 6 p.m. The cost is $12 per adult or $5 per child for a savory dinner of spaghetti, garlic cheese bread, salad and dessert. Entertainment will also be provided. If you don’t want to eat, but, just enjoy the entertainment plan to make a donation. Call 520-240-1789 to reserve you seats The OWN music scholarship serves children of the Tri-Community in grades one through 12. Applications will be accepted throughout the end of this school year and the first semester of school, next year. An electric keyboard, music and lessons will be awarded to the scholarship recipient or recipients for one year. Scholarship applications

can be obtained from your local school office, the Oracle Library the Tri-Community Visitors Center, the Oracle Patio Café in Oracle, or on the San Manuel Miner website at http://bit.ly/YD1IcX. Call Elaine Helzer at 896-

9132 for more information. Music lessons have been scientifically proven to help with knowledge retention, improve grades, promote self-discipline and self-confidence, to improve dyslexia and so much more. Unfortunately, music

and art programs have been removed from many schools, meaning that children can only access these benefits through private lessons, which often cost more than their family can afford. The OWN music scholarship was created to help financially

disadvantaged children to get the benefits associated with taking music lesson. Donations to the OWN musical scholarship are welcome; especially electric keyboards. Donations should be taken to Sue and Jerry’s Trading Post in Oracle.
