Robert Lorona 5K Cancer Walk planned for Nov. 13 Hayden — The first annual Robert (PeeWee) Lorona 5k Cancer Walk will take place on Nov. 13 at the Hayden Golf Course. Registration starts at 7 a.m., with the walk beginning at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $25, which includes a t-shirt and meal ticket. The theme is Walk to Win and the goal is to help fight cancer and support the families

who are in their own fight against cancer. All proceeds will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. In order to meet this goal, sponsorships are being sought from local businesses and individuals. Donation tiers are: $500 Platinum Sponsors, will receive the following : eight participants, eight shirts and eight meal

tickets, as well as a sponsorship sign along the walk path. $250 Gold Sponsors will receive: four participants, four shirts and four meal tickets, as well as a sponsorship sign along the walk path. $100 Silver Sponsors will receive the following: two participants, two shirts and

Public Notice Pinal County Public Hearing Regarding Use of CDBG Funds Pinal County is expected to apply for approximately $300,000 in FY13 federal CDBG funds from the Arizona Department of Housing State Special Projects (SSP) funds. CDBG funds must be used to benefit low-income persons and areas, alleviate slum and blight or address urgent need. Based on citizen input as well as local and state planning objectives potential projects may be selected to be forwarded to the State of Arizona with a request for funding.
