tuesday 06/02

The (business) case for norm-critical organising main hall 18:15 — 19:15 Norm critique is a development in queer resistance that seeks to challenge institutionalised norms and existing power relations in society. But what happens when norm critique engages with the very institutions that play a role in producing the social norms, which norm critique seeks to dismantle? This workshop explores the

affective effects—aeffects—of norm critical intervention methods at workplaces, addresses the kind of affirmative critique that is performed, and argues for the business case in nurturing and caring for work practices that are critically reflexive of underlying structures of norms in organisation(s). participants: Jannick Friis Christensen, PhD Research Fellow, Dept. of Organization, Copenhagen Business School language: English

wednesday 07/02

An evening with Sylvia Thomas main hall 17:00 — 18:30 Sylvia Thomas is an American Transgender woman who doesn’t just want to share her story, but she needs to. Sylvia resides in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she grew up in a multicultural household. Sylvia took on sex work for financial assistance while keeping herself alive by writing. She wrote about what she went through, what she had witnessed, and her experience. Presently she is finishing her studies to receive a Bachelors in History: “I chose to study history, not because I enjoy the subject, but I wanted to know

how I can change it and make sure that everyone’s story is told.” This evening Sylvia relates her personal story and garners it with the poems it inspired. Sylvia’s mission as spoken word artist is to empower people to tell their stories, especially those who are marginalized and oppressed. Especially after the United States election, she is very adamant about sharing her story in spaces where people’s beliefs and ideas about LGBTQ+ people are challenged and confronted. participants: Sylvia Thomas language: English

Is 68% satisfactory? main hall

18:15 — 19:15

How do we burst the bubble and move the agenda? Denmark is often framed as a paradise for LGBTI+ people, when we sing our own praises of equality, inclusion, tolerance and diversity. But how can we be so content, in a situation, where Denmark scores merely 68% out of a possible 100 on the ILGA Europe equality index? What still needs to be done? Is the political will there? Why is the pace so slow, if this is something we all agree on? ParticipANTS: Steve Taylor, ILGA Europe, Søren Laursen, LGBT Denmark and chair of the Human Rights Council. moderator: Lars Henriksen, Chair Person, Copenhagen Pride. lANGUAGE: English
