Nebraska Cattlemen

Ireland Dear Friends, Nebraska Cattlemen will be your hosts for this extraordinary travel opportunity and Executive Travel will provide expert tour guides to make the experience one you will never forget. In August 2017 we travel to Ireland! Ireland is symbolic of shamrocks, leprechauns and legends, all in a Gaelic language of their own. A country which has fired the imagination for centuries with its legendary visual drama! White washed lighthouses perched on a raging Atlantic gnawing at thunderous cliffs; bright paint-box colored villages and a rainbow of every possible green imaginable; prehistoric stone age ruins to medieval monastic marvels; fairytale castles and stately country homes; quaint tea rooms to cozy pubs; and celtic harps complimenting a dose of serenity. Our journey starts in Dublin, the city of literature and passion; just a pint of a capital with the island’s finest Georgian architecture, old school bars and funky boutiques. We will experiencing the cliffs of Moher, wild landscapes sprinkled with charming villages and Victorian mansions, Ring of Kerry, Rock of Cashel, Blarney Castle, Cork and much, much more. Together with our Irish friends, we have arranged an Agricultural Symposium and very special visits along our route. This will be a wonderful time to see old friends and meet new ones on a memorable tour of Ireland. Please take a look inside this brochure to learn all the details. Once you do, we hope you will join us on this travel experience of a lifetime.

August 11, 2017

Start your day with a horse-drawn carriage ride through the Killarney National Park to Ross Castle for wonderful views of Lough Leane and the Macgillycuddy’s Reeks Mountains. Then set out on the famous Ring of Kerry scenic route. The road winds between mountains on one side and the Atlantic coastline on the other. Stop for photos at great locations all along the route. Take the bridge to Valentia Island to visit the Skellig Experience to learn about the rocky islands off the end of the peninsula where monks lived under austere conditions in early Christian times. In 2014 part of “Star Wars VII” was filmed on the islands. Lunch is enjoyed at a traditional Irish pub. Stop in the attractive village of Sneem and at Moll’s Gap for panoramic mountain views, before we return to Killarney for the night. B | L

Today we explore the scenic Connemara to admire how constantly changing cloud formations give granite hills, sparkling lakes and peat bogs an added dimension. While visually stunning, this area is not good for farming with many tracts of bogland and sturdy sheep that wander over the hills. Lunch at a local traditional pub of the area before we embark on the Corrib Princess for a scenic cruise on Lough Corrib. We drive to Galway where the evening is free to discover the lively city. After our visit we continue to Doolin for shopping, pubs and a music adventure. Doolin is a little village with three pubs, each with live entertainment: McGann’s, Fitzpatrick’s and O’Connor’s. You can walk from the one to the next with the mission to find your own favorite! Overnight is arranged at local Bed & Breakfasts, a true Irish experience! B

August 12, 2017 This morning enjoy a late departure from Galway.
