As laidback as it gets. Even if you’re not getting into the pool, it’s still fun to hang out here, especially in the late afternoon.

One of the buzziest bar scenes in town. The decor is elegant but playful and there’s a sophisticated-butfun feel.

If you can’t get a seat at the bar, this is a fine second option. In cooler months, linger by the fireplace for extra cozy appeal.

Watch the horsedrawn carriages glide past as you enjoy the ocean breeze and one of THE must-do scenes in town.

Need to escape the daytime heat? This is the place. And it’s a fun spot in the evenings too. Hang with lifeguards and enjoy great music.

Like wriggling your toes in the sand as you sip on cold beers and fun cocktails? Welcome to paradise.

Watermelon Sunrise: tequila, watermelon juice and grenadine.

Old Fashioned: American whiskey, cane sugar, bitters, twist of orange and amarena cherries. Garnished with an orange twist.

Blood Orange Martini: blood orange puree, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, champagne and an orange slice.

Summer Peach Sangria: white wine, apples, farm-fresh seasonal fruit, San Pellegrino Limonata and a slice of peach.

Rusty Nail Pale Ale: craft-brewed for us! Or Georgia Peach: a mocktail with freshbrewed iced tea, fresh peach purée and sparkling water.

The Hammer: Gosling’s rum, coconut rum, passion fruit purée, fresh lemon and pineapple juice, in a souvenir coconut.

A few prized bar stools, wooden café chairs or chill out on the outdoor sofas at the rear of the pool bar, overlooking the veranda.

Leather bar stools with comfortable backs. That equals perfection in our minds.

You’ve got options. Sink into a sofa in front of the fireplace (recommended in cooler months) or sit in the café-style chairs near the bar.

The bright red outdoor sofas beautifully accent the white porch railings. Just a great vibe.

Choose from a big selection of stools around Cape May’s longest bar. Or hit the sofas.

Try and claim the Adirondack chairs and tables that surround the fire pit for the best place to enjoy an outdoor dinner.

A great place for a cocktail or ice-cold beer at the end of an exhausting day by the pool — it’s a tough life, isn’t it?

Perfect for date nights, whether you’re having an aperitif, a nightcap or dining at the bar.

It’s romantic and cozy, no matter the time of year, especially if Paul is on the piano. Great for aperitifs and nightcaps.

A wonderful place for a group of friends to spend an evening laughing and chatting. Or to kick off your night with an aperitif.

Get the gang together and enjoy an evening of live entertainment. In the evening the vibe here is high energy.

Step off the beach for a satisfying meal. Or enjoy cocktails under the stars, by the glow of the famous firepit.

The light of the sun is shaded by the flourishing trumpet vine. All you have to do is bask in it.

There’s this beautiful amber ambience to the whole thing that just works. A perfect bar mood.

Very similar to The Ebbitt Room bar given it’s right there! Sit back and drink in the atmosphere.

Late afternoon or early evening it’s dappled by the western light. After dark it’s pure romance.

During the day it just feels refreshing, compared to the heat outside. At night it’s cozy.

This is Cape May’s little slice of SoCal. The whole place is flooded by the slowly sinking sun. Early evening is special here.

You’ll be lulled to a chilled-out zone by the sounds of Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, the Beach Boys, Jack Johnson and friends.

There’s only one sound that works with the classy Ebbitt Room... piano. Take a bow, Paul Sottile. The man can play.

The Ebbitt Room is a pretty cozy place, so you’re going to hear Paul on the piano no matter where you choose to relax.

The clip-clopping of horses’ hooves, maybe the surf from the Atlantic if you time it just right.

More energy than the mellow sounds of the outside vibe. Bands include Cintron, Back 2 Life, Tru Buddahs and Twelve: 01.

A mixture of reggae and classic rock and pop from favorites like Kate Delany, Marnie & Nate, Cultureal and Carl Behrens.

You’ll have a clear view of the pool, in case you have kids to watch... and the TV, in case you have baseball to watch.

When the Virginia hotel served as a boarding house for Congress Hall employees, this area housed a ping-pong table.

Piano player Paul Sotille has played and recorded on songs and remixes for Madonna, Katy Perry, Bush, and Shakira.

You can order a full meal here. We recommend ordering plates to share — it’s a sociable way to spend an evening.

The beer is 36.4 degrees. And served in mugs pulled from a freezer. Enough said.

Travel + Leisure magazine featured The Rusty Nail as one of the top 10 beach bars in America.
