VOLUNTEERS HELP NEEDY suffer with mental health issues and a conversation with someone else can make a big difference. Stuart Mainland, co-owner of the Community Magazine, said he has been blown away by the way the local community has come together to help each other. He said: “The Covid-19 situation is very difficult for many people and especially those who are elderly, of ill-health or live on their own.

Kind-hearted local people have created a number of groups to help others in need throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Among the various community groups is “Westerton Community Helpers” and “Bearsden:Milngavie Coronavirus community assistance group”, both of which can be found on Facebook. There are also a number of local Whatsapp groups, such as one organised by a woman who lives in the Fairways area in Milngavie. With many people facing illness and self-isolation, the groups

allow people who live nearby to volunteer their help to those in need. People are on hand to help with tasks such as collecting and delivering shopping, posting mail or collecting prescriptions. In addition, people can be on the end of a phone to call people who are stuck indoors and feeling lonely. Isolation can be very difficult for those who already

“We congratulate the organisers of the various groups for their thoughtfulness and positive spirit.” Foodbanks that offer support to vulnerable people and those facing financial crisis are also appealing for new supplies of products. The Drumchapel Food Bank have issued a list of the most needed items. See their page on Facebook for further details. Also see the website for the Tussell Trust (www.trusselltrust. org) for information about East Dunbartonshire Food Bank, located in Kirkintilloch. A spokesperson said: “As coronavirus unfolds more people could need our safety net than ever before."

With the UK in high alert because of the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s vital that we all remain vigilant to the latest health advice. The advice by NHS Scotland and the UK government as we went to press was to stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms, including a high temperature and a new continuous cough. You should not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital and you do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying at home. If you have symptoms, you should stay at home for seven days. if you live with other people, they should stay at home for 14 days from the day the first person got symptoms.

If you live with someone who is 70 or over, has a long-term condition, is pregnant or has a weakened immune system, you should try to find somewhere else for them to stay for 14 days. You should only seek advice via NHS 111 online if you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home, your condition gets worse or your symptoms do not get better after seven days. To avoid catching and spreading the coronavirus, the public should aim to avoid socialising as much as possible. especially in

BUILDING

indoor places. This is particularly important for people who are aged 70 or over, have a long-term health condition, or are pregnant. The key actions to take include washing your hands with soap and water often; covering your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze; putting used tissues in the bin immediately and washing your hands afterwards; avoiding close contact with people who have symptoms of coronavirus; only travelling on public transport if you need to; and working from home if you can. See www.hps.scot.nhs.uk for the latest advice.

10K SERIES ‘LATER THIS YEAR’ cancelled all bookings for their facilities for the foreseeable future, as well as the need to protect the resources of medical service providers and the emergency services for greater priorities.â€? All entries for the 10k races can be carried forward to the new dates and anyone unable to take part as a result of the change in dates can request a refund or a rollover to next year’s series.

Local runners will be disappointed by news that a series of three popular 10k events has been postponed. However, organisers of this year’s Babcock 10k Series are keen to reschedule the road races that take place in and around Glasgow.

Organisers hope that the series, which has been affected by the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, will now take place in September.

The races had been due to take place next month including, the Babcock Helensburgh 10k on Thursday May 7 and the Babcock Dumbarton 10k on May 14, both at at 7.30pm, as well as the Babcock Shettleston 10k in Glasgow on Sunday May 31 at 10am.

A spokesperson for the 10k series said: “The decision to postpone the three races was taken based upon advice from the Scottish Government and, in turn. from Scottish Athletics. “It also takes into account the fact that local authorities have

PLANS LODGED FOR NEW ALLANDER

PLANS FOR NEW SCHOOL Plans for a new secondary school in Bearsden can be viewed on-line. The new Boclair Academy will be constructed on the same site while the existing school remains in operation. The development will also include the provision of external sports spaces, car parking, landscaping and associated works, such as drainage. Councillor Andrew Polson, Joint Council Leader, said: "This is a welcome development for parents and pupils at Boclair Academy and I’m delighted that the project is moving forwards.” To see the plans, visit www. eastdunbarton.gov.uk.

A planning application has been formally lodged for the new Allander Leisure Centre facility. The council aims to redevelop the Bearsden site to form a state-ofthe-art sports and leisure centre. The Allander project includes proposals for a larger swimming pool, games hall, gym, café and changing facilities, as well as improved football and tennis facilities There is an additional plan to incorporate services to support adults with a learning disability within the centre. This is a reprovisioning from Kelvinbank Resource Centre. The council reports that engagement has taken place with Allander Champions Group, community councils, Allander users, residents' associations and local schools.

Has Your Double Glazing Steamed Up?

Work has also been carried out with partners including East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust and East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership. Thomas Glen, the Council's Depute Chief Executive Place, Neighbourhood & Corporate Assets, said: "I would encourage people with an interest in the Allander project to take the opportunity to have a look at the application details. If anyone wishes to make comments, these should be submitted directly to the Planning Service." You can see the plans on planning.eastdunbarton.gov. uk, reference TP/ED/20/0105.

GET SOME FRESH AIR As we went to press the advice from experts was to try to get outdoors for regular exercise where possible. If you have been infected by Covid-19 or you are self-isolating because someone close to you is infected you should be very cautious about spending time outdoors with other people. For those still well, accessing quiet trails or hills and mountains that you are familiar with is a good idea. It is important not to go anywhere or do anything new or excessive that might lead to an accident because this will add strain to an already overstretched medical service. Commonsense is paramount but fresh air is good for you.

Almost 150 adults and children competed in a series of multi-discipline sports races at the Allander Leisure Centre last month. The Cameron Intellectual Property Allander Aquathlon and Go-Tri event was organised by Glasgow Triathlon Club on Sunday March 15.

locally before Covid-19 guidelines form NHS Scotland and the UK government prevented further large group gatherings.

The aquathlons, comprising a pool swim and a run, offered the opportunity for an early season race for youngsters. The Go-Tri is a novice distance aquathlon for senior athletes.

Pete Soden, race director, said: “Glasgow Triathlon Club was once again proud and pleased to deliver a successful, competitive and very well attended Allander Aquathlon while acknowledging those who could not attend for the wider circumstances and reasons.

Distances for the swim ranged from 50m to 400m and run distances were between 600m to 3km, depending on age groups. The race was one of the last mass participation events to take place

“From Tri Starts to Go-Tri competitors it was great to see them all giving their best. I also have tremendous respect for the

distances that families will travel to support our aquathlon. “As always, too, I am grateful to all our volunteers from the club whose presence keeps the popularity of this event high and flying. It would not be possible to stage our races without these kind hearted people.” Cameron Intellectual Property is the headline sponsor of the Allander Aquathlon. Other sponsors include Creation Flooring, Rettie & Co and Scotmid Coop. In other news, GTC have postponed the Big Bobble Hats Bishopbriggs Sprint & Novice Triathlon. A new date will be set as soon as possible. The Cameron Intellectual Property Kirkintilloch Aquathlon is due to take place on Sunday August 16. See www.glasgowtriathlonclub.co.uk.

OSCAR FOR SOUND ENGINEER A sound engineer from Bearsden has been honoured with an Oscar for his work on the First World War film 1917. It was the sixth Oscar nomination for Stuart Wilson, who grew up locally, and he was delighted to pick up the coveted Sound Mixing award at a star-filled ceremony in America in February. Stuart, 54, received the accolade alongside Mark Taylor, who has previously been nominated three times.

request greater collaboration in the development of community facilities. Fiona Crosbie, a member of the CFUA, said: “We look forward to genuine participation with the council.”

LOCAL INFORMATION In light of the recent Coronavirus situation, most local councils have set up dedicated support pages on their main websites, with the aim of bringing communities the most up to date and relevant information, and to provide support for responses in a safe manner. These are updated continuously, reflecting current events and the ever changing local and national government advice. Please visit your local councils support page if you are needing any support, as these all provide direction to any services that are remaining open to provide their resources if in need. Your local website can be found at www. eastdunbarton.gov.uk/ residents/council-democracy/ coronavirus-covid-19

CFUA chair, Malcolm Boddie, (left) talking about the Association during the information and membership day

A campaign event in Milngavie saw more than 100 extra members join the Community Facilities Users’ Association (CFUA). The CFUA was constituted in November 2019 with the purpose of representing the views and aspirations of community groups and individuals. The launch of the group came after concerns over East Dunbartonshire Council proposals for a new Hub in Milngavie. The association believes that many local people and groups are worried about the future of Milngavie Town Hall and the Community Education Centre.

In order to have the widest possible representation, CFUA held an enrolment drive at Tesco in Milngavie on February 29. Now the CFUA has revealed it has written to the council informing them of their intention to submit a Participation Request under legislation from the Scottish Parliament (Community Empowerment Act Scotland 2015). The Act gives groups and individuals the opportunity to

In a statement from the council, Ann Davie, Depute Chief Executive for Education, People & Business, said: “We can again confirm that we will be considering all feedback from our engagement activity to date for Milngavie Community Hub and we will continue to engage with the community at all stages of this project.” More recently, some groups that use the Town Hall and Community Centre as a base were delighted to report news that the council’s letting department has stated both facilities will remain open for bookings until the end of December 2021. Jennifer Donald, from Milngavie Friendship Circle, said: “It is wonderful news that the Friendship Circle will have a place to meet until the end of next year.” For information or to join CFUA, email cfua.bm@gmail.com.

We recently opened the Jaw Brew Pub and are enjoying a growing following in the local community from customers who are supporting their local brewery and distillery. We are a small family business and are continuing with our plans to move our Brewery to Milngavie by mid April. We are distilling our Gin beside Bardowie Loch. We are now monitoring the advice being given regarding the current crisis and ensuring that we follow the guidelines set out by the Government so our pub is temporarily closed. However, for all you Jaw Brew and Bardowie gin fans, and so we can continue to provide our locally produced beer and gin to local residents, we are now providing a free delivery service to all our customers in Milngavie and Bearsden, particularly those self isolating, or you can collect from our premises next to Milngavie Railway Station. We have beer in bottle, carry-keg and bag-in-box (the latter two being means of delivering draught beer to your home) as well as our delicious Bardowie Gin. We will keep our Facebook page updated as the situation develops. We look forward to your continued support.

CAST CALL OUT FOR TV SHOW

What's Up Doc? with Dr Nick Dunn

This month: COMMUNITY SPIRIT‌

A popular TV show has announced it is casting in Glasgow for a forthcoming series. Couples Come Dine With Me, which is broadcast on Channel 4, is keen to receive applications for the 2020 series. The show, which was first broadcast in 2014, sees three couples competing for a chance to win a prize of ÂŁ1000. Couples Come Dine With Me is set to return this year, although no filming will take place while the Covid-19 crisis is on-going. All casting will take place remotely. To apply, see itvuk.etribez. com/ag/itvmultistory/ cdwmcouples6/welcome.html and complete the form.

A spokesperson from the company that creates the show said: “We are really keen to hear from couples who would like to play a part in the next Couples Come Dine with Me series. “We hope to get the cast ready to go so when everything is calmer in relation to the virus pandemic so we can then start filming as soon as possible. Couples Come Dine With Me features couples working together to plan a perfect dinner. From deciding the menu and entertainment to table arrangement, they compete with other teams to win the highest scores and the prize.

With coronavirus spreading rapidly, and numbers of people affected by the virus expected to rise sharply, all NHS workers are working extra hard to make sure that those requiring attention can get help when needed. Examples include receptionists, delivery drivers, hospital porters and managers, as well as nurses, doctors and other clinicians. Times like this allow us to recognise the important contribution all the team members can make, especially when working to the top of their abilities. As we have never experienced anything like

This can all be very unsettling for patients, with many consultations taking place over the phone or by video, and receptionists being trained to ask more questions, and give advice, than previously. However please be aware that patient care remains our biggest priority, and that we rely on the community to be considerate to one another at these difficult times.

Could You Save Money Each Month By Re-mortgaging? When should you apply for a re-mortgage? Many people tend to think that they need to wait until their current deal ends before they can apply to remortgage, but this is not the case. Reducing your bills by hundreds or even thousands of pounds each year seems like a pretty smart idea to me. If you currently have a mortgage, you may be paying out more each month than you need to.

TIPS FOR STAYING FIT AT HOME Legal Matters Staying at home indoors for weeks during the Covid-19 crisis it is important to stay as fit and healthy as you can.

with Gill Bowman BA LLB

This month: SCOTTISH LEGAL AID

Here are some useful tips for homebased fitness. Climb the stairs: Stair climbing works your heart, lungs and leg muscles. Push walls: Pushing against something that won't move while you also don't move creates an isometric contraction of the muscle, which helps to maintain muscle mass.

Lift weights: Use a rucksack filled with books to do squats and lunges or utilise food products such as tins of beans for arms based exercises. E-classes: There are a host of on-line fitness workouts and yoga sessions to be found on-line.

During this unprecedented time of Covd-19 I thought it would be of assistance to remind people about the availability of financial assistance for legal issues from the Scottish Legal Aid Board (SLAB) and the application process. Public funding is available through SLAB for individuals to receive legal advice and assistance, or representation, for civil and criminal matters concerning Scots law. Legal Aid is available to individuals over the age of sixteen and also those under sixteen years of age who are able to provide legal instructions to a solicitor. There are, of course, restrictions to financial eligibility, depending on any savings you may have

and also your weekly disposable income. According to SLAB, 75% of Scottish adults would qualify for civil legal aid. It may be that this would be with a contribution. However, that contribution is usually paid by way of monthly instalments and ensures that access to legal advice is affordable to those who require it. At this time, face to face appointments with a solicitor may not be possible and as a result SLAB have allowed for Legal aid applications to be lodged without the requirement of signature by the applicant. We suggest you contact your own solicitor for further guidance if you do require legal assistance and are unable to personally attend for an appointment.

YOUR MORTGAGE REPAYMENTS EXPLAINED The Chancellor Rishi Sunak recently announced that homeowners who are affected by the Coronavirus can apply for a mortgage payment holiday. What is a mortgage payment holiday? A repayment holiday is a shortterm measure that allows you to take a break from making your contractual monthly mortgage payment for up to three months. During your mortgage payment holiday, you will not have to pay anything, but your mortgage balance will increase during the period.

Who is eligible for a mortgage holiday? Repayment holidays are only available to homeowners who are up to date with their mortgages and are not already in arrears.

If you have already fallen behind with your repayments, you should contact your lender to discuss any alternative options.

How do you apply for a mortgage holiday? Repayment holidays won’t automatically be applied, homeowners need to make an application by contacting their lender directly. Lenders are allowing homeowners who are up to date with mortgage payments to 'self-certify' when applying for a mortgage holiday, this means that they won’t carry out a thorough check on your finances as they would if you were applying for a re-mortgage.

Mortgage Payment Holiday and Your Credit File If your mortgage is not in arrears, a mortgage payment holiday should have no impact on your credit rating, and you will not go into arrears on your mortgage. Credit agencies have advised the banks that they shouldn’t record payment holidays as arrears or as missed payments when

reporting information to them. Borrowers should check their credit reports regularly to ensure the information is correct and up to date. Although arranging a repayment holiday won’t harm your credit file, you should contact your lender as soon as possible, especially if you’re think that you might not be able to make your next mortgage repayment.

If you a looking for further advice, complete our contact form on our website at: https://themortgageadviceservice.co.uk/contact and we will be happy to get back to you.

EGG-STRAVAGANZA Easter is considered the most important and oldest festival of the Christian Church, celebrating the resurrection of Christ and held between March 21 and April 25. Over the centuries, many Easter traditions have developed, including eating chocolate eggs, dyeing and decorating eggs, egg hunts, hot cross buns and the Easter bunny.

TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL HOME WORKING For some people, the distractions of TV, social media and even doing household chores will affect their productive day. Try to be strict with yourself and stick to your work tasks as you would in the office. Leave the rest of the entertainment and tasks for after work.

With many thousands of people now working from home amid the coronavirus outbreak, we share some tips for success. The aim is to try to avoid the stresses, both mentally and physically, of sharing your new work space with other people, whether your partner, other adults or children. If you live alone, finding the peace and space to work in your home environment will not be so difficult but there will be other potential issues, such as loneliness, anxiety and too many distractions.Try to stay in touch with colleagues virtually.

It is important to find a space – a room where you can shut the door if possible – to work. If you need to work at a computer, you should try to set it up as you would at work. Think how you are sitting as you use your computer. There are plenty of help guides online. Take regular breaks from your screen and don’t be tempted to spend these breaks staring at your computer for longer

in a bid to consume news and information. Draw up a working timetable. This is especially important if you have children at home. Can you take it in turns with your partner to work and look after the kids? If you have older children, show them your new work timetable and tell them why it needs to be respected. Try to stick to your usual routine and encourage your kids to do the same. See our article about useful resources for activities for children on page 23.

Make it clear to other people in the house that when you are in your home office or office space, you are working. They should respect your need for quiet and to concentrate. Wearing headphones and playing calming background music might help. If people need to ask you something, you can request they do so by text, Whatsapp or another on-line message service. This way you can keep work and home life as separate as possible. While working from home might be difficult for many people, you can rejoice in small silver linings, such as leaving the office clothes in the wardrobe and not bothering to brush your hair.

The running tours take place in and around Milngavie, including the West Highland Way, with a range of options, from 5k for beginners to 20k for more experienced runners. Jim said: “Living in Milngavie, I realise I am lucky to be so close to the countryside with plenty of options for trail routes. “For years, I have taken out local born-and-bred runners only to surprise them with routes they didn’t know existed. “This gave me the inspiration to produce my first book, Milngavie Trail Runs, which sold out very quickly, and from there I was encouraged to publish my second book, The Scottish Trail Running Tourist, which is still available and selling well.

This month: TIPS FOR PROTECTING YOUR HANDS

EMERGENCY TRAIN TIMETABLES Train service providers have issued a revised timetable to allow for the provision of transport for people delivering essential services. Amid the Covid-19 crisis, staff availability in ScotRail and Network Rail Scotland has been affected, as well as customer demand, which means that changes to the timetable were deemed necessary.

affected by the impact of the coronavirus, revising services also accommodates infrastructure changes and allows safety critical roles to be performed across the country.

It was explained that the timetable that will operate for customers represents significant change from the normal daily timetable, with a specific focus to deliver an effective public transport service for key workers.

It is believed that the service level will deliver more than enough seats to meet the current demand levels and the timetable will be kept under regular review to react to any further developments.

Reducing the number of trains in service creates opportunities for additional cleaning activities on trains, and in depots, and allows more targeted cleaning at stations. With more railway staff being

David Simpson, ScotRail Operations Director, said: “We are facing an unprecedented challenge on Scotland’s Railway and the revised timetable will help to provide a critical service for the key workers across the country.”

Your hands and the skin that protects them take a beating every day. Some tips on keeping your hands strong, supple and healthy.

1: USE BUT AVOID OVERUSE OF ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP Antibacterial soaps and frequent hand washing are necessary to prevent the spread of germs and airborne illnesses, however, a bar of mild soap is just as effective as antibacterial soaps for removing germs and can keep your skin from becoming irritated. Take your time while washing – no less than 20 seconds.

2: PAT THEM DRY After washing your hands with warm water and a mild soap, be sure to pat them dry with an absorbent towel. Pat gently to remove with any excess water that would allow germs or bacteria to hang out on your hands, as this is irritating to the skin, especially with frequent washing.

3: USE HAND SANITISER ONLY WHEN NEEDED Hand sanitizers are useful when no access to a sink or warm water. However, many sanitizers are alcohol-based and can be irritating to your skin. Alcohol strips away natural oils, leaving them unprotected and susceptible to dryness and cracking.

4: AVOID EXTREME HEAT Exchange hot water to warm instead so as not to dehydrate.

surface wipes will be delivered this week to all businesses to continue to wipe down surfaces and door handles to help minimize the risks. Chair of the BID and local business owner, Graeme Ross commented “these are unprecedented times that will be the most challenging for many business owners including my own. We would like to appeal to the people of Milngavie to support us where they can, to help us survive. Local business owners are also offering great promotions to try to attract people, but we appreciate people will have their minds on other things.

It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday, and if local people are ‘social distancing’ and would like to cheer up their mum, there are a number of local businesses who can deliver a gift for them”. Businesses in Milngavie will continue to work and keep their premises open, until instructed by the UK Government to close. In the meantime, the general message to everyone is to stay safe and follow sensible guidelines to minimize the chances of catching or spreading COVID-19. In these unpredictable and changing times, it is important to support our local businesses and each other as much as we can.

A small but important Local Nature Conservation Site in Milngavie has been the focus of a “welcoming” upgrade. Barloch Moor, which is described as a hidden gem, includes a wooded area and grassy space. The 9.24-acre area is home to a rich variety of plants, as well as wildlife, such as roe deer and kingfisher. Now, as part of improvement works carried out by East Dunbartonshire Council’s Streetscene Technical Support, it has two new entrance feature walls to provide a welcoming and attractive face to visitors. Located alongside Mugdock Road, the entrance features

were implemented as part of the Barloch Moor Management Plan 2018 to 2027, which was informed by a community consultation event held in 2017. Using recycled sandstone and granite setts, the entrance features were created by Ralstone Contracts Limited.

She added: “The walls are a great improvement at what is one of East Dunbartonshire's lesser known environmental treasures. "Barloch Moor is very popular with the local community and is bursting with biodiversity. I'd encourage everyone to come along to see the new entrance features and to discover all that this fantastic natural space has to offer.”

The public was invited to an information event in Milngavie in December 2017 when they were Councillor Susan Murray, encouraged to help shape the Vice Convener of the Place, 10-year management plan for the Neighbourhood and Corporate site. In 2018, two bridges and some Assets committee, believes the of the main paths within the moor entrance features provide an attractive addition to the moor area. were upgraded as part of the plan.

PLANS FOR SUPPORT GROUP with at least one family member. Helen, who was formerly a holistic therapist, said: “Estrangement can happen through divorce, where one of the parents can be disowned by a child or the other way round when one of the parents does the disowning. “It can occur between siblings if there are disagreements over, for example, care for an elderly parent, power of attorney, property or inheritance.

A Milngavie woman is hoping to launch a support group for people affected by the emotional difficulties of family estrangement. Helen Somerville believes there is a need for a group because family estrangement can cause feelings of stigma, guilt, frustration, loneliness and depression. Helen, who has personally experienced the sadness of estrangement, said: “When I tried to find a local support

group I discovered there are very few in the UK.” Yet, she believes the number of families affected by estrangement is increasing. Research shows that one in five families in the UK will suffer estrangement and more than five million people have decided to cut contact

“It can also be heartbreaking when grandparents become estranged from grandchildren after divorce. “I think there will be demand for a group so that people affected by estrangement have an opportunity to discuss their situation in a supportive and accepting environment without any judgement.” Once Helen has gauged interest in a group she will look for a meeting location and set a regular date. To contact Helen to indicate your interest a group email: 2Bestranged@gmail.com.

TAKE CARE OF MENTAL HEALTH The Covid-19 outbreak will affect people in different ways but many will feel anxious or stressed about the situation. In addition, extended periods at home in isolation will add to many people’s mental health issues. There is a range of advice to help you to stay mindfully strong. Take breaks from watching, reading or listening to news stories, including social media. Hearing about the pandemic repeatedly can be upsetting. Make time to unwind by doing yoga, meditating, reading a book or listening to calming music. Stay connected with others. Talk with people you trust on-line or on the phone about your concerns and how you are feeling.

Almost 100 girl guides, from age five to 18, in the Bearsden area celebrated World Thinking Day with a special event. Thinking Day is a worldwide celebration of Girlguiding and offers the opportunity for guides to connect with 10 million Girl Guides and Scouts across the globe. Locally, Killermont District Guides organised the event for nine units including Rainbows (aged 5-7), Brownies (8-10), Guides (10-14) and Rangers (14-18), at Killermont Parish Church on February 22. The girls took part in a range of tasks throughout the afternoon, including crafts and food focused activities. Financial assistance from

William Fulton Building Services and Bearsden East Community Council allowed for additional external providers, too. Chris Castell, Killermont District Commissioner, said: “The funding meant we could offer all the girls ‘Drumming with Big Groove Promotions’ and a bicycle-powered water pumping challenge from Peachy Keen. The older girls were able to attempt a Bridge Building challenge with a STEM Ambassador from Babcock Rosyth. “All the activities tied in with the five World Centres of Guiding in

London, Mexico, Switzerland, India and a moving centre across Africa.” Killermont District has almost 200 girls across the nine units – three Rainbow units, three Brownie units, two Guide units and one Ranger unit. Chris said: “We are grateful to the enthusiasm and dedication of our volunteer leaders, who are a vital part of weekly activities for the units. We are always looking for more adult volunteers to help with the units.” If anyone is interested in finding out more about volunteering with Girlguiding see their website: www.girlguiding.org.uk/ get-involved.

The fit was completed in the three days as promised and the team were superb. Absolutely delighted with the outcome. There were minor teething problems but the speed at which my calls were dealt with and the team got things sorted was first class service. Would highly recommend.
