HA 19-20

(Last page) Friday afternoon, everybody from team HA 1920 was in a great mood. The sun was shining, students from BSS were talking and laughing of stupid comments and funny jokes stated by the guy next-door, one was lying on the bare earth, just to see all his comrades landing on top of him. The floor in the cottage had already been washed after some unnecessary dirty disturbance. Bro-love was everywhere. Let’s hug!

HA (Jur.) 21-22

Anyone like some pasta and meatballs? Good, because that was probably what you got for dinner. This team had an enthusiastic girl who had decided to make something different. Therefore, a special dish with rice and tuna combined with a curry dressing was to be found at the table of HA (Jur.) 21-22. The team seemed to enjoy it, and Commerciel Magazine did as well.

THE VIGSØ

OLYMPIC

GAMES

2013

or the first time ever, The Vigsø Olympic Games was held this Saturday. The participants were competitive students from Aarhus School of Business and Social Science. Before take-off, the necessity of some warm-up moves was performed in the big tent. All the students were dressed up in the finest country-inspired costumes. From Pirate-, Hell- and Cult-land, to the relentless Hippie and Baby-land. Three handsome guys in morph suit, chicken costume and spiderman body paint did their best with well-known dance moves and stretch forms, almost too difficult for the students to replicate. The muscles were warm, and the students went to the first challenge to unfold their fitness. Nisse-, Handyman- and Hospital-land were facing each other in a competition of cunning skill and silent communication. The teams were encircling in an enclosed area blindfolded.

22

Hereby, they had to find their whole team in silence, only by feeling and communicating with their hands and body. The game wasn’t easy at all, and all the teams needed several minutes to complete the task. It was great fun watching this little mind game, and hopefully the students had fun stumbling around in the dark, searching for fellow students. Indian-, Grease-, Hero- and USAland was laughing relentlessly and a little sweaty when sack-racing. Teammates did a great job cheering and supporting the ones in action. The sacks didn’t remain whole for long because of the enormous energy and spirit the students brought to the game. Who won the challenge you might wonder? Focus was elsewhere, and the students seemed to be having a good time. This Saturday at Vigsø Feriecenter, everywhere Commerciel Magazine passed by seemed perfect. Many countries had done a great job coming up with a battle cry and making their intro to each new competition special. Nisse-land danced around the homemade student-Christmas tree with presents of students. Holger-land was looking for Holger and singing “Find Holger, find Holger…”. Hospital-land singing “Lå. Lå, lå, lå. Indlagt på hospital.” Indianer-land marked itself with a genuine tribal dance with a song. All this creativity and commitment was noticed for the final judgment. 23

It all ended where it started, at the big circus tent. A group of winners was up for tribute. The winners of the Case Competition held in the Introduction Week had to be announced. Top-up were the merited winning team of the business case. Eng3/Fra/Arab.kom had distinguished themselves in solving the communication case with bravura. Each team won a stunning party at Klubben with a value of 20,000 DKK. Amazing!

The prize for best costume was awarded to Romerriget who excelled in having great war-helmets with big red feathers. Overall winner of The Vigsø Olympic Games 2013 was the team Frugt and Grøntsagsland. Doing splendidly in the competitions and having a unique intro scene, the crowded tent gave a suitable tribute to the winning team on stage. What a day! To round off the Olympic day, a famous band had arrived directly from Spain to perform. Afterwards, the speaker was asking for 100% YES. Almost sitting, jumping up to 100% YES the students danced-out to the theme song Animals.

Hawaii-land and Vikinge-land faced each other in a game of høvdingebold. The Instruktor said: “This is the most equal game I have ever seen. Both team fighting like crazy to smash the ball on their fellow students. It is actually not nice to witness. But as long as they are having fun.” ;-)

Cowboys consuming their lunch in the afte noon sun. The settings at Vigsø are outstanding: lovely sea-view, clear blue sunny sky (almost) and beautiful BSS students. What’s not to like? In the following competition, the Cowboys had to move a coin between bodies on time against Mexico-, Holger- and Nisse-land.

Vand-, Retro- and Engle-land had to use their flexible bodies in this challenge. Spell a famous person’s name with you booty, so your teammates can guess it as fast as possible. The guy on the picture had some amazingly loose bones and did a great job wiggling letters. Legoland and Paradisland in an intense fight of Ultimate. The Frisbee flying from hand to hand, sometimes hitting a hand or a head in the way. Most importantly the students communicated well and had fun while training their motoric skills and balance.

SWEATY-SUSPEKT

AT VIGSØ O

n Saturday evening during the Introduction Week, the jaw-dropping explosive hiphop band Suspekt entered the stage at Vigsø Feriecenter. The band staring Orgi.E (Emil), Bai.D (Andreas) and their producer Rune Rask owned the stage for the best of an hour. The band had not at all expected a packed circus tent with more than a thousand students chanting: “Suspekt, Suspekt, Suspekt!” in every quick break between the songs. After the first song, the three guys dropped their earplugs, looked at each other and manifested with huge indispensable smiles the incredible feeling in the crowd this evening.

The Scene was Set! The following intrepid concert performance, consisting of multiple Suspekt-classics, such as Sut Den Op Fra Slap, Klaus Pagh and Proletar - to mention a few, the endless shearing of champagne and Grey Goose with the audience and the total unspeakable presence on stage from the band, is a whole other story. 32

After the concert, Commerciel Magazine was given a few minutes to ask the band a few questions: How was the audience tonight? Bai.D: “It was awesome. When the soccer-ambience excelled in the “Lå, lå lå lå lå lå! Lå, Lå lå lå lå lå!” song, we were blown away. It was such

a cool audience, we felt like we were performing at a festival.” When mentioning the many girls at the front row, Bai.D admitted: “That’s right, there were many ladies and I liked it a lot.” Especially due to the ladies, the guys from Suspekt were sad to leave the premise at Vigsø in a rush. There had

been a little confusion about the volume and staging of the concert. Surprisingly Orgi.E and Bai.D had not dreamt of the scenario in the tent this evening, and therefore, they were sad not to have a cottage for the night. Orgi.E: “In the bus, on the way up here and when walking on the small path to the 34

circus tent, we thought we were going to get assaulted by three Polish craftsmen and a Romanian gangster. Or we thought that we were going to play in a small room for maybe some hundred people. Then out of nowhere this huge fucking-tent arises.” Andreas continues the sincere and clearly exhilarating

summary of the crazy concert night: Bai.D: “It was crazy, man! We thought we were going to perform for 200 people in a small room – and then it was a circus tent! Our school has never thrown such a party before. It was a clear A+” To make everything worse, Suspekt would have stayed all

night if they had known. As Emil stated: Orgi.E: “We are familiar with the place up here in the north of Jutland and go here during holidays to chill and hangout. Next time, if we are invited to play, then we have to know, so we can make a combo and stay longer with you guys.” Thanks to Suspekt for one ear-widening, freaking awesome concert! Good job BSS-students for making the atmosphere sky-high. We had a blast of a weekend in Vigsø! Thanks to the helpers, bartenders, the sound crew, doormen, DJ´s and all the persevering instruktors. See you next year!
