HIGH QUALITY TEACHING & LEARNING

At Offord Primary School we work hard to deliver teaching and learning of the highest standard. Our experienced teachers develop a good understanding of the needs of the pupils in their classes. We strive to engage them in creative and stimulating lessons and make the most of our indoor and outdoor learning spaces.

Our curriculum is designed to provide a broad, balanced and inspiring education. We encourage high aspirations and a thirst for learning. Expectations are high, and the pupils relish the challenges that demanding learning presents. Our 1:1 iPad devices enable pupils to further engage with their learning, provide individualised support and promote independence.

We value staff development and, through The Cam Academy Trust, have access to high-quality training programmes. We believe that a passion for learning is one of the most powerful and precious gifts we can offer. We want our teaching to be inspiring, creative and cutting-edge to achieve the best outcomes for all.

Parents and families are at the heart of our village school. The partnership between home and school is vitally important. We believe that by working together, we can provide the best opportunity for all the children in our school, while they are nurtured and cared for by those around them. Our strong links with the on-site pre-school and out-of-school club enable families to access high-quality childcare in familiar surroundings.

We keep you informed about your child’s progress and attainment, sharing news and information. We will invite you into school regularly, to experience learning first-hand alongside your child. At Offord Primary School, staff, parents and governors work actively together for the good of all the children. Together we will encourage them to be resourceful, resilient learners.

PARTNERSHIP WITH PARENTS, FAMILIES AND THE COMMUNITY 4

A CARING, NURTURING ENVIRONMENT

Offord Primary School provides a caring, friendly and secure environment for pupils, parents and staff. We work hard to create strong, positive relationships to ensure that our pupils feel safe and secure. We believe in clear expectations of behaviour and strong partnerships with families. These are key to developing trust, well-being and the confidence that children need to learn well. Our curriculum supports strong personal development and we teach children to work together well to enjoy and enhance their learning.

“The children love the teachers, and being such a small school they all integrate together and look after each other.”

WIDER EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

We know that lessons are just the start of learning. Throughout the academic year all our children can enjoy a wide range of educational, creative and sporting opportunities.

Every child participates in ‘Forest School’ activities in our orchard. They are stars every year when they perform to friends and family, and they have the opportunity to participate in extra sports clubs and music lessons.

Day trips and residential visits are an important part of our curriculum provision. By offering wider educational opportunities we can develop children’s interests in the world around them. We encourage problem-solving, co-operation and teamwork skills that will stand them in good stead to be successful citizens in the 21st Century world. Our hope is that all our children will look back on their time at Offord Primary School with fond memories of a place that set them up for exciting adventures ahead.
