Vision Statement The Division of Student Affairs strives to be recognized for our commitment to student success by providing transformative opportunities and exceptional services that are student-led, richly diverse, and prepare students to actively participate in a global community.

Mission Statement The Division of Student Affairs fosters a vibrant campus community that promotes student excellence, invites collaborations and discovery, provides educational programs and services that are meaningful, and empowers students to contribute to the advancement of local and global communities. The Division actively enhances integrative learning environments that are safe, supportive, challenging and inclusive.

PRIORITIES

1. Through formal and informal campus and community partnerships, the Division of Student Affairs will create exemplary student learning experiences by providing support services, co-curricular programs and exciting engagement opportunities. 2. Foster a dynamic work environment among Student Affairs staff that recruits,

develops and retains quality talent, ultimately leading to job satisfaction and productivity 3. Increase student engagement by providing meaningful programs and services that create a vibrant campus life and a culture of University affinity. 4. Demonstrate stewardship by acquiring resources for sustainable programs and effective student support services.



1 PRIORITY

Developing campus and community partnerships that promote innovative student learning experiences, support services and co-curricular engagement.

Recommending Strategies: • Collaborate with internal colleges, departments and programs with an emphasis on creating innovative academic, service, and student support alliances. • Create opportunities for student input in policy and process development, decision-making, and co-curricular program development. • Collaborate with institutional partners in support of Complete College Georgia Plan to increase student retention, progression and graduation rates. • Develop and implement comprehensive partnerships that include, local, regional and global experiences for diverse populations of students.

Cultivate an environment that recruits, develops, and retains quality staff.

Recommending Strategies: • Recruit and retain high performing individuals. • Develop a mentoring program for new professionals. • Promote training and development, using NASPA’s Professional Competency Model to advance career opportunities. • Foster a scholarly environment where staff develop publication records and present at conferences. • Create Division cohesiveness through team development opportunities. • Develop a Student Affairs Staff Recognition Program.

Increase student engagement by providing meaningful co-curricular programs and services.

Recommending Strategies: • Develop innovative programs and services that promote a sense of belonging and support retention, progression and graduation efforts. • Utilize assessments for program accountability to determine program strength, program sustainability and student needs. • Provide social, developmental, and career enhancing experiences that holistically develop students. • Educate and empower students to make choices that enhance personal and community wellness across the seven dimensions: physical, emotional, intellectual, social, environmental, spiritual, and career. • Foster a culture of school affinity through the celebration of traditions and development of meaningful programs, services and school pride. • Ensure all student populations have equal access to the CSU campus life experience.

Sustain Student Affairs growth by acquiring resources for quality and effective programs and services.

Recommending Strategies: • Develop a culture of advancement by actively pursuing resources through generated revenues, grant writing and sponsorships. • Use resources, knowledge and technologies among units within the Division with a greater emphasis on partnerships and collaboration. • Seek opportunities to accomplish Division priorities through leveraging resources with external or institutional departments. • Improve stewardship with an emphasis on sustainable programs and efficient use of all resources.
