Sprouts Farmers Market is place for healthy food

CCM Staff ustomers looking for fruits and vegetables have a multitude of choices at the Sprout’s Farmer’s Market in Lone Tree. The store is in a large building east of the Super Target on Lincoln Avenue. The layout is one large, open room. There are no designated aisles. Instead there are tables displaying

a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Each display is labeled in details For example, one table’s label identified the ears as Olathe sweet corn, while nearby there was a table piled high with fruit identified as Palisade peaches. However, the store merchandise is not limited to fruits and vegetables. There are large, well-stocked display

cases of ready-to-cook items as well as a wide variety of meats. The store also stocks gourmet coffee, a wide range of spices and diverse selection of cheeses. Sprouts is part of a national chain that was established 10 years ago but traces its roots back to 1943, when

Karate instructor says teaching never gets old CCM Staff orty-year karate instructor Gary Swain never tires of seeing his students evolve. “Watching the light come on in somebody’s eyes, when they understand that they can do it and do it well if they want to, that really excites me,” said Swain, the instructor at Shotokan Karate who won top honors in martial arts. “When they fi nally get that, there’s almost a metamorphosis from being a child to becoming a young, responsible adult. He offers a traditional program to children, teenagers and adults. His youngest students are 7, his oldest, 81.
