Mental health crisis!

The College of Mental Health Counselling calls upon the community to support mental health education accessible to everyone online. As a mental health crisis unfolds, demands are being made from public and private sectors for mental health services to be made available. The mental health crisis is most visible when mass shootings occur and are reported in the media. Beneath the surface are troubled individuals (our mental health crisis) caught in a secular society combining violence with postmodern anomic depression: loss of values and meaning in a culture of unbelief. This paper calls upon mental health professionals, educators, and knowledgeable individuals to design or support the creation of a mental health course that helps the participant become aware of potential triggers that could lead to a mental health crisis or emergency. What would you include in your own self-awareness course? Maybe you would include: the affects of the parental relationship on you as a child, unresolved conflict or resentments from childhood and afterwards, effective communication such as listening and assertiveness skills, how to give respectful feedback, identifying and helping depression and suicidal feelings, grief and loss, identifying healthy enough people to trust with your life, and other areas. The course should be made available at a low cost with a tuition waver if needed and able to be completed by email. Internet sources should support and provide the wide distribution of such a course on a continuous basis to enable access at any time. The philosophy informing the course is that for the clear majority of individuals, mental health can be maintained if one is aware of healthy and unhealthy choices and factors potentially contributing to a psychological crisis, so that one can gain a conscious sense of mastery of the life rather than being driven by the unconscious need to repeat or perpetuate aspects of painful unresolved conflicts and losses experienced in childhood and subsequently. Call upon the community or general public, parents and youths, mental health professionals, physicians and nurses, educators, Facebook and other internet social media, religious groups, athletes, celebrities, secular and SBNR (spiritual-but-not-religious) folk, school administrators, news media, Hollywood, academia, scientists, employers and employees, business owners and managers, private individuals and public officials, to join their influences to support mental health for everyone through accessible online education. May I ask you to share this paper or the course described here? https://www.academia.edu/36102524
