DID YOU KNOW? Spring Semester Design Store Hours

The Design Store, located on the second floor of the College of Design building across from the Design Student Services office, will open next Tuesday, Jan. 17. Hours will be 8:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. (noon) on Friday throughout spring semester. Please note, this is a schedule change from fall semester.

Beyer Hall Access

The recent renovation to State Gym now connects it to Beyer Hall. To control access to the gym facilities, Rec Services has added a “check point” that students, staff and faculty must pass through before they can access the building, Beyer and the classrooms. Everyone must now use their ISU Cards to access Beyer Hall to get to class. Room Scheduling is working through this access issue with Rec Services and hopes to find an easy solution soon.Because students pay a Rec fee, you should not have a problem with access, but please still remember to bring your ISU Card along if you have class in Beyer or otherwise need to enter that building.

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday

The university and college will be closed next Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Iowa State will mark the holiday with several events. The university is a part of the Community Birthday Celebration at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at Ames Middle School, and ISU’s own Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Celebration will begin at 4 p.m. next Thursday, Jan. 19, in the Memorial Union Great Hall. The event will include speakers and musical performances.
