The graduates, in red gowns for high school and blue for intermediate school, moved to the beat as Ensemble ‘25 -- a band composed of school staffers, performed selections such as, “Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World.” Science teacher Sandra Reher led an enthusiastic rendition of 'God Bless America.' The Marine Corps League presented the colors and also, with the help of Mount Loretto Alumni Association, presented the Marine Sgt. Angel Mendez Alumni Award to Kaseem Pettiford.
The honor is named for Mendez, a Medal of Honor candidate who grew up at Mount Loretto and was buried there after dying as a hero in Vietnam.
