Fair prizes part of online auction to benefit scholarship fund DEL MAR — The Don Diego Fund, a scholarship program of the San Diego County Fair and Del Mar Fairgrounds, began its 2010 online auction June 1, with all proceeds directly benefiting its scholarship funds. Visit www.dondiego fund.org to win show ticket packages to 2010 Grandstand performances at the fair by Donna Summer, Honor Society, Kenny Loggins, Lone Star, One Republic and Julio Iglesias, with some tickets including backstage passes. The auction also fea-

tures memorabilia autographed by Grandstand artists and sports stars. All items are available on a “buy it now” basis. The auction runs through the duration of the fair, closing at midnight on July 6. The fund also introduces its Circle of Friends $99 Amigo Club, with members receiving free admission to each day of the 2010 fair, running June 11 to July 5, and one stretch pass to each racing day of the 2010 Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Race Meet, held July 21 to Sept. 8.

The $99 donation also entitles members to four single day Surfside Race Place passes plus one single admission to the Scream Zone,

Theater workshop for kids set in July OCEANSIDE — Coast Kids Theatre is holding its annual summer workshop from 9:30 a.m. to noon July 5 through July 16 at The Star Theatre, 402 N. Coast Highway 101, focusing on audition techniques, voice, dance, improvisation and acting. Each child will leave with an audition CD especially chosen for him or her. At the end of the workshop, participants will present a showcase of songs, dance and scenes from the comedy “How To Eat Like A Child” with directors Ann Schulz and Bobbi Janikas.
