eDITOR’S nOTE Looking forward to spring, I would like to remind everyone to be careful and take it easy. Spring weather is unpredictable and can change in a heartbeat. Don’t take chances. Slow down, be safe, and drive to conditions. On the lighter side, I have recently read many articles about the shortage of qualified drivers in the transportation industry and how older people who are retiring are going to be replaced. It is said that at some point, robots and autonomous vehicles will replace some of us, but I’m not convinced that is the whole answer. Yes, some of us will be replaced but I believe there will always be many diverse positions available. The reason I bring this up now is that this is the time of year when events are being planned to promote transportation. We promote our industry year-round through various fund raisers, job fairs, and show and shines to raise awareness of the trucking industry and the services we provide. This summer take the time to support your local trucking associations by assisting them in promoting our industry to the younger generation. Let’s spend the time to develop the next generation of transportation professionals: drivers, executives, accountants, operational staff, electronic technicians, the entire array of personnel necessary to move
