In December, the women’s basketball team left for Chicago for five days the day after Christmas. The swimming and diving team is hard at work with practices every day. With lots of activities going on, students can go to Winter Formal tomorrow to have a fun, relaxing time.

Blasting into 2011 As time ticked down, students shared what they did to prepare for ‘Dynamite’- Columbus North’s Winter Formal 2011.

“I got asked during the last performance of the musical. I was on stage and I was standing next to Rory Willats. At the end, the cast grabs hands and he slipped a piece of paper in my hand that said ‘Winter Formal?’“ senior Elizabeth Clerkin

"I got my dress in mid November as an early birthday present. I decided on that one because I saw it [online] and immediately loved the color and cut. It's completely different from the dress I wore last year and I just wanted to change things up a bit." sophomore Shelly Salo

Pack these simple items to keep your evening worry-free.

1. What if a strap breaks or a seam rips? You’ll definitely need a safety pin or two just in case. 2. Annoyed by gravity working on your dress? A few pieces of doublesided tape or dress tape will help solve the problem and keep your top in place. You can find dress tapes at drug stores. Stick it in your purse or coat pocket incase you need to reapply later. 3. If you spill your entree on your shirt, pants or dress and don’t plan on wearing your left-overs to the dance, stick a stain removing pen in your pocket to steer clear from any accidents.

4. Put a tin of mints in your pocket to ensure fresh breath -- without annoying your friends or date by chomping on gum the whole night. 5. The winter air is super dry, so avoid static by stashing a mini bottle of static guard in your purse or in your car. The night will be electric enough without the static shock. 6. In case you get blisters from your new shoes or fall and scrape your knee, a few extra adhesive bandages are a must-have for this special night. 7. A few ibuprofen could benefit anyone who gets a head ache from hours of dancing to loud music.
