Every year, Fall Training Conference brings the district together in the mountains of Sonora, CA to show members how amazing it is to be a part of Circle K International. The event embodies the passion and spirit of the organization. This year, clubs and divisions may apply for various Fall Training Conference Awards that will show off the spirit, themes, and dynamics of schools across the district.

WHY SHOULD YOU APPLY? ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Awards give our district the opportunity to appreciate, recognize, and spotlight its outstanding individuals, clubs, and divisions for the exceptional work they do every year. It is very important for all clubs - regardless of their size or circumstances - to feel that they are supported and acknowledged by their division and district. Our district would be nothing without the dedication of our members, clubs, and divisions. It is an honor that is meaningful for recipients and the Cal-Nev-Ha District.

DISTRICT UNITY

All throughout the announcement of awards, everyone cheers and congratulates other individuals and clubs for their achievements. It shows how supportive and encouraging clubs are of one another. Circle K-ers acknowledge how hard each individual, club, and division worked to earn the awards they receive. Thus, awards provide the district with a sense of pride and unity for these accomplishments.

REFLECT

District awards are a great way to reflect on the progress of your club. Awards can be a good indicator of the areas in which your club excels as well as the areas where individuals and clubs can improve. Awards can inspire clubs and individuals to strive to do all that they can do and be all that they can be in Circle K. Ultimately, awards serve as a reflection of all that the club embodies and accomplishes for the term.

LEGACY

Winning awards is a reminder to your club and its members of the accomplishments, values, and pride your club carries in Circle K. Clubs may place awarded patches on their banners as a physical reminder of their successes. Awards contribute to the legacy of your term. Whether it be being the club with the most service hours per member or being the club with the AMAZING scrapbook at District Convention, the achievements of your club can inspire members to carry on this legacy for years to come.

TAKE IT FROM THE MEMBERS JACK WANG, UC SAN DIEGO Have it be a motivating factor! It shows how much hard work and dedication you put in the entire year. PAULA LE, CSU LONG BEACH When you’re applying, you’re not only applying for yourself or the club; you’re applying for all the people around you -- your friends, advisors, people who secretly look up to you. They want to see you receive that award because they know you deserve it, and they want to share that moment of happiness with you! RICHARD TZUL, LOS ANGELES CITY COLLEGE It creates a sense of community. When the district recognizes someone, that member becomes someone we can rally around and see as an inspiration to be a better CKI member. TERRENCE DIAZ, HARVEY MUDD COLLEGE It makes people confident about their abilities! And being confident about your abilities will allow you to strive for more ambitious things! MANUEL SANTIAGO, ORANGE COAST COLLEGE It recognizes your club for all the amazing things you’ve accomplished. Receiving awards provides a legacy for your term.
