Chabad of Cutler Bay announces High Holiday services schedule BY ROBERT HAMILTON In anticipation of the upcoming Jewish New Year, Sept. 19 and 20, Chabad of Cutler Bay and Homestead has announced its High Holiday services schedule. This will be the second year of services for the relatively new congregation. The services will be “warm, friendly and traditional,” according to Chabad’s executive director, Rabbi Yosef Wolff. Unlike many congregations, membership is not required to join. All are welcome, free of charge, regardless of background or affiliation. In addition, a special children’s program will accompany the adult services. All prayers will combine the original Hebrew, as well as translated English. ”According to tradition, at the New Year the Doors of Heaven are open; God accepts all prayers, from anyone,” Rabbi Wolff explained. “The least we can do is open our doors as well, to the

entire community.” Services will take place on Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, Sept. 19 and 20, as well as Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, Sept. 27 and 28. They will be conducted at 8210 SW 189 Terr. (SW 82nd Avenue off of Old Cutler Road) in Cutler Bay. Rosh Hashana services begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Morning Services and Kiddush Buffet; Sunday only: Shofar Blowing and Yizkor (Remembering the Departed). Yom Kippur services are Sunday, 7 p.m., Evening Services include Kol Nidrei and holiday opening; Monday, 9:30 a.m., Morning Services, including Yizkor ; 6:30 p.m., Ne’ila (Closing Service) Napoleon’s March /Final Shofar Blast/Havdalla/Buffet “Break-Fast.” For more information regarding High Holiday services, or to register, call 305975-6680 or send email to <Rabbi@chabadhomebay.com>.
