Apple Watch Series 6 The Apple Watch 6 feels like the wristwatch you remember, with a degree of luxury, thanks to a lightweight aluminum or stainless steel case and braided strap made with recycled yarn and silicone. What you mostly care about are the features, and this model goes above and beyond with a 30-percent larger OLED display, 64-bit dual core processor, and W3 wireless chip. Within this framework, this model provides GPS capabilities, blood oxygen and heart rate sensors with notifications, emergency SOS and fall detection features, a compass and altimeter, louder speaker, 32GB capacity, Bluetooth 5.0 capabilities, and 50m water resistance.

Dynamic "Monaco" 6 Person Low EMF FAR Infrared Sauna If you’ve ever thought about building a sauna on your property, this Low EMF structure from Dynamic delivers the experience for six people with natural hemlock wood construction, 15 Carbon PureTech Near Zero EMF Heat Emitters, and roof vents. Simply plug it in, adjust the settings with the LED control panel, and feel your muscles relax as sweat escapes your pores.

Smeg Dolce & Gabbana Electric Citrus Juicer What might be described as the most meta gift of the season references Dolce & Gabbana’s Italian postcard-themed collection from a couple of years ago, which prominently featured a bold lemon print. Here, powder-coated aluminum adds brightness to your kitchen with this familiar motif, while automatic features and an anti-drip spout let you start the day with a fresh glass of orange juice.

Theragun Elite Therapy Device The Theragun Elite proves that you don’t always need to go out for an effective, relaxing deep tissue massage treatment. Both upgrading the Theragun’s features and how you give yourself an at-home massage, this percussive therapy device improves the experience with a quiet, proprietary brushless motor, a reinforced drivetrain, ergonomic handle, OLED screen, and Bluetooth connectivity, which allows for Apple Health and Google Fit integration. 60-percent greater depth releases more tension and soreness, while a choice of easy-to-clean attachments helps you target different muscle groups.

MUST HAVE ITEMS Valentino Tie-Detailed Virgin Wool and Cashmere Sweater Cashmere is being reimagined, to some degree, as an upscale version of wool, albeit softer and finer. This Valentino sweater brings them together, pairing a refined texture and handkerchief-style silhouette with a thin leather belt for structure. All the while, the fabric’s composition delivers the ultimate in casual-to-dressy warmth. Jacquemus Pink Mohair La Maille Albi Sweater 2020 was declared the year of the statement sweater across both men’s and women’s collections. Although that trend has since emerged as knit patterns or graphics, Jacquemus presents a different interpretation based on texture, with a soft mohair/wool blend playing off a bright watermelon pink shade. Puff sleeves give it a spaciously relaxed yet structured quality. Missoni Crochet-Knit Pants Missoni’s classic knit textures were made for months like these, serving as the precise confluence of style and comfort. These straight-leg pants show that not every knit needs to be a sweater or jacket, adding a multicolored chevron pattern to a casual silhouette with just a touch of stretch for ease of wear.

Winter ITEMS for her

Sorel Out 'N About Plus Conquest Waterproof Suede Ankle Boots It can be a challenge to find winter boots that also deliver some style. Sorel excels in this area, with the Out ‘N About serving as a testament to that. An ankle silhouette hits at just the right height, while faux shearling wraps your feet in cozy warmth and a waterproof suede exterior with sealed seams blocks out the elements.

Kassl Editions Satin Belted Trench Coat Light, almost champagne pink has been one of 2020’s defining shades, adding a subtle, shimmering touch to plenty of staple garments. This hue, plus the soft satin material, veers this Kassl Editions trench coat away from expectations, yet a double-layered belted design still supports your downtown adventures. 8 | www.ClienteleLuxury.com

Fendi Logo Print Reversible Jacket What are you in the mood for? This reversible jacket places smooth, solid-color wool on one side, complete with contrasting leather patch pockets, and shakes things up with an all-over tonal logo print on the reverse. Dress for the occasion with its cropped, drop-shoulder structured silhouette.

MUST HAVE ITEMS A.P.C. Fringed Virgin Wool-Felt Scarf A.P.C. has shown for years that there’s quality in simplicity, and embodies the American obsession with French effortlessness. This scarf precisely exemplifies that, with virgin wool felt for a soft next-to-skin feel accented with fringed ends.

Prada Cable-Knit Beanie While many menswear brands have been thriving in maximalist territory, Prada toes the line between statement making and classic. Pieces like this beanie clearly fall into the latter, with timeless cable knit construction. Marled wool brings both texture and warmth, keeping you cozy on those below-freezing days when you need to head outdoors.

Winter ITEMS for him Thom Browne Striped Wool Sweater Thom Browne has long left his mark with his slim, cropped men’s suits and avant-garde Fashion Week presentations. Beyond this façade is a brand built on quality construction and classic silhouettes, and these facets emerge through this sweater. Constructed out of Shetland wool, it brings the texture and warmth you seek, and considers all the details, including mother-of-pearl buttons and grosgrain trim.

Rick Owens X Moncler Coyote Quilted Shell and Shearling Down Jacket Rick Owens’ menswear silhouettes have continued to impress on the runway, both with their less-typical lines and clear penchant for feminine forms. Here, Owens takes a cue from streetwear, partnering with a quintessential outdoor brand to make a similar impact with a seemingly straightforward coldweather item. Soft, textured lamb shearling contrasts against a durable nylon shell, while quilting and extra insulation exemplify the confluence between practical construction and fashion. 10 | www.ClienteleLuxury.com

MUST HAVE ITEMS

ANTI - RADIATION DEVICES Since personal computers and cellphones took off in the 1990s, radiation exposure has long been a concern, with many questioning how much usage is too much. Especially with the availability of Wi-Fi, cellphone and Bluetooth signals, and 24-7 transmission from routers, low levels of electromagnetic frequency (EMF) radiation exposure have turned into a constant aspect of daily life. Unfortunately, potential risks and the research supporting claims are inconsistent. The National Cancer Institute has indicated that the radio-frequency (RF) energy from cellphones is relatively

low, but the World Health Organization has classified these devices as probable carcinogens – or, more specifically, that more research is needed to establish a link between regular cellphone usage and the development of certain cancers. To mitigate risks, anti-radiation or anti-EMF covers for smart phones, watches, and tablets have taken off, as have clothing, hats, and even glasses to reduce your exposure. Solutions divert, deflect, or absorb the radiation to limit the amount of radiofrequency waves you and your children are exposed to:

ZNAP Glasses ZNAP made a name for itself with a more ergonomic, portable, and “invisible” laptop stand. They’ve since extended that innovative approach to anti-blue light glasses that help fight eye strain by blocking the transmission of blue light as you work, with a yellow tint and classic rectangular silhouette.

Waves Protect Cases The team behind Waves Protect came up with an idea to create a functional RF-blocking case that also offers stylish appeal and longevity. Today, the company starts with genuine Italian leather, soft-touch plastic, and microfiber to protect your smartphone while reducing EMF exposure up to 96 percent and offering RFID-blocking features for your credit and debit cards.

Shield Headwear Shield Headwear weaves its garments out of silver fiber, offering a stretchy and comfortable feel with anti-radiation properties. Woven silver material serves as a middle layer between more traditional textiles, or it’s woven in conjunction with cotton. In all contexts, silver repels radiation away, including newer 5G frequencies, while improving the body’s conductivity. Beyond blocking out electromagnetic radiation waves, silver provides antimicrobial, antistatic, heat retention, and blood circulation properties.

EMF Harmonizer+ Stickers EMF Harmony designs its anti-radiation stickers based on a dual-level, bio-energetic system that lessens exposure to EMF radiation at the sub-atomic level. Direct Technology reduces the level of electromagnetic radiation’s energetic frequencies, and Adaptive Technology works to support your body’s cell energy, which is easily disrupted by EMF radiation. Because the case doesn’t block electromagnetic frequencies, your device still works as normal when you need it. Measuring 1.2 x 1.2 inches and made of stainless steel, the EMF Harmonizer+ is placed directly on a device, remaining in place with adhesive backing. Ideally, the sticker should be placed on the back side near the bottom, not far from where you would charge it. 18 | www.ClienteleLuxury.com

BRUSH CREEK RANCH

North Platte River Valley, Wyoming

ocated on 30,000 acres of an operating cattle ranch in Wyoming’s North Platte River Valley, Brush Creek Ranch brings together luxurious relaxation with the quintessentially western landscape of prairies, rolling hills, forests, mountains, and rivers. Since opening, Brush Creek Ranch has considered the whole family and, in turn, offers something for everyone in a historic semi-outdoor setting. Right in between the majestic Sierra Madre mountain range and the Medicine Bow National Forest, Brush Creek Ranch consists of three properties blending wellness, garden-to-table dining, and sustainable ranching with a sense of adventure in a mountain retreat atmosphere. The Lodge & Spa offers 33 units and serves as both the gateway to relaxation and nature activities. The Magee Homestead builds upon this with such wellness and rejuvenation attractions as a grotto soaking pool, sauna, and

26 | www.ClienteleLuxury.com

steam room, as well as horseback riding. The French Creek Sportsmen’s Club, located on Sanger Ranch, appeals to the outdoorsmen and women out there seeking to get away from it all while hunting and fishing. Attractions change with the seasons. Winter vacations are an opportunity to savor gourmet meals and craft beers at The Farm, a seed-to-table dining experience that further offers cooking, butchering, and baking classes and guides beverage and dining events at the resort’s Cheyenne Club. Brush Creek Ranch’s character is based around its history – the establishing of homesteads, built on sustainability, in the American West, combined with Saratoga’s hot springs. Brush Creek’s collection of properties functions as an authentic cattle ranch, utilizing sustainable practices through operations, emphasizing the frontier ethos of hard work, and preserving the surrounding ecosystem. More specifically, owners Bruce and Beth White do this through stream and watershed improvements, organic greenhouse practices, rotational cattle grazing, and limiting development with the exception of outdoor recreational activities and agriculture. Since named the No. 1 Resort in the U.S. by Travel + Leisure magazine, Brush Creek Ranch expanded its offerings for Winter 2020, focusing on the luxury traveler looking for a more private and intimate approach to adventure. Among the attractions are 25 acres of glade skiing at Green Mountain, a private 620-acre mountain resort surrounded by forest lands and Brush Creek Ranch’s latest edition. Only 12 guests are allowed on the property at one time, with guides and instructors available for activities. Non-guests further have the option to buy out the mountain for a day of private skiing. ■

HOS HIN OYA Fuji

Mt Fuji, Japan

s a vacationing option, glamping has been growing in popularity globally in recent years. Part of the appeal is the connection the visitor gets with the outdoors. Yet, this exposure and closeness to nature are coupled with luxury facilities and planned activities. In Japan, HOSHINOYA Fuji delivers such an experience on the pine-covered slopes of Mt. Fuji, on an UNESCO heritage site yet relatively hidden and overlooking Lake Kawaguchi to the south. To get here, the visitor travels up a sloped path through a wooded landscape by jeep. You’ll spot the resort’s cabins on a cleared section of the hill, and beyond are the dining facilities and the Cloud Terrace relaxation area, a series of modernist platforms that appear to float among the landscape. Setting HOSHINOYA Fuji apart from other glamping experiences is its approach to nature: here, you’re encouraged,

28 | www.ClienteleLuxury.com

through sofas under the trees and evening campfires, to enjoy the outdoors on more relaxed terms. Structures facilitate this exploration, while the resort reduces the downsides of traditional camping. For your stay, the resort’s cabins maintain such a balance. Part of the floor plan remains outdoors with a balcony and glass wall, while the rather minimalist living quarters include air conditioning, a bathroom, sleeping area, and sofa. Along the pine-covered slopes, each offers a view of the mountain and lake, with the opportunity to take in the often-colorful seasonal landscape. Lighting – indirect to replicate a natural feel – creates a softness that lets visitors observe the stars at night. Traditionally, glamping resorts highlight hiking, nature walks, and water activities among their attractions. HOSHINOYA Fuji diverges in this area. Although you’ll have the opportunity to explore the terrain, sign up for mountain trekking, or row across the lake, visitors can learn to smoke and flavor food with wood chips, chop wood that later fuels a pizza oven, and properly learn to use tools to do such tasks. As another alternative, visitors can tour the mountain by electric bicycle to take in the landscape and sights at their own speed. While activities help you become familiar with various outdoor cooking methods, HOSHINOYA Fuji’s own dining focuses on Frenchinspired meals, prepared with local ingredients and wildlife, including deer and boar caught by skilled hunters. Herbs and preparation methods vary by season, with winter presenting meals in a shabushabu hot pot fashion. Photo Credit: Hoshino Resorts ■

ICEHOTEL

ere at the Icehotel, you will find the most fascinating, pristine “ice art” when you embrace the experience of sleeping on ice. The hotel recommends you book one night on ice and a couple in their traditional hotel rooms to get the most out of your experience. Artist Johan Larson says he, “Wanted to create a feeling of being embraced and protected by the ice.” That is what you’ll experience while you sleep on a giant bed made of actual ice from the neighboring river.

Each suite has a theme, and the artists from the U.S., Germany, U.K., and other countries are all hand-selected from over 200 applicants and invited to make the suite that you will experience. After winter passes, the art simply melts during the spring. The next year, the entire hotel will be redesigned. AMAZING CITIES TO LIVE BEVERLY HILLS, CA

With strong and rising property values, Beverly Hills is a landmark for the luxury lifestyle. While movies and television have turned it into a must-visit destination for tourists, the city – an independent municipality within Los Angeles with a population of roughly 35,000 – has the friendliness and well-run organization of a small town with the diversity of a big city, albeit one where luxury shopping and dining destinations are a quick drive away and you’ll occasionally spot well-known celebrities and athletes. Since the 1920s, stars finding fame in Hollywood have resided in Beverly Hills, and this context shapes its attractions, from lavish mansions to Rodeo Drive, the hub of the city and location of many internationally acclaimed restaurants and designer boutiques. For locals, popular attractions that have turned into social spots include museums like the Paley Center for Media, various art galleries off the beaten path, farmer’s markets, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, and Cañon Gardens, home to a summer concert series. Beyond attractions, Beverly Hills offers residents the best of both worlds: proximity to Los Angeles and its many destinations, while offering the amenities of a smaller city, including top-performing schools and independent police and fire departments. Its location, in everyday life, offers other assets: access to leading universities like USC and UCLA, the option to drive into the city to see a major sports team, and job opportunities in the growing tech sector of Silicon

Valley and Silicon Beach and the world’s entertainment capital. Yet, Beverly Hills’ communities provide a reprieve from its bustling tourist sites, and to create this atmosphere, many are closed off to the public. By the weekend, you can hike to see the beautiful mountain views of Franklin Canyon Park, located just outside of the city, or head to the beach in Malibu – popular as a second home destination for many Beverly Hills residents. ■

AMAZING CITIES TO LIVE PARADISE VALLEY, AZ

Paradise Valley, Ariz., has earned a few distinctions. It's one of the

sunniest places in the country - on average, the town sees 294 days of sun per year - and it's the home to multiple resorts looking to take advantage of these bright, balmy conditions. Added to this, many note that the town seems strangely underdeveloped compared to its larger neighbors Phoenix and Scottsdale - until you find out that residents intentionally keep it that way. Right in the center of Camelback Mountain, Phoenix Mountain Preserve, and the McDowell Mountains, Paradise Valley first became a town in 1961, and its 16.5 miles are home to over 12,000 people. Prior to this point, it existed as a rural area with nearly no commercial presence and midsized homes. Properties, too, tended to have several acres of land surrounding. After World War II, both cities considered expanding out here, but its residents objected, instead maintaining a bucolic, quiet community on their own with minimal government intervention. Real estate, these days, doesn't stray from the town's initial vision, with properties surrounded by expansive tracts of land. As such, homes tend to be priced higher here, and likely as a result, Paradise Valley's now one of Phoenix's highest-priced suburbs. However, most coming here do so for the resorts, of which eight exist within the town's borders. Most center on leisure and relaxation, encompassing fine dining, golfing, hiking, and spa environments in some form. But, if there's one attraction that defines the town, it's the

Goldwater Memorial, a bronze statue of former Senator Barry Goldwater, a long-time Paradise Valley resident. Memorializing the Senator with a threedecade career, the statue designed by Arizona artist Joe Beeler sits over a landscaped desert park with a path and incorporates various quotes he's said over the years. â–

AMAZING CITIES TO LIVE SEATTLE, WA

S

eattle—known as ‘The Emerald City’—and the Greater Seattle Area, which is home to nearly four million people, are the brightest and most valuable jewels in the crown of states that form The Pacific Northwest. Headquarters for Amazon, Microsoft, Starbucks, Nordstrom and other innovative companies, Seattle is the global gateway where visionary people from every corner of the earth converge, collaborate and create the technological and cultural wonders which define 21st Century living. 2020 has emboldened individuals to redefine the meaning of home and to reimagine the form, function and mission that living spaces must accomplish. In the Greater Seattle Area, this redefinition of home is driving exponentially increased demand for luxury residences on larger in-city lots and homes with privacy and acreage. Also, waterfront homes, buying island getaways as primary residences, country estates and ranches are more popular than ever before. Some of the strongest demand for Seattle area residences has come from California. Washington State doesn’t have an income tax—and Californians who make the Seattle area their new home may see as much as a 13% increase in income. Both new and longtime residents of the Greater Seattle Area have a deep appreciation for the region’s social and cultural activities. From independent coffee shops, to the world renown Pike Place Market and exceptional arts organization such as the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera, the Pacific Northwest Ballet, and the Seattle Art Museum. The Greater Seattle Area brings together the best of urbanity and nature. During this uncertain time, one fact remains certain for people

who have made the Greater Seattle area their home: From a Pioneer Square Pied a Terre to a contemporary dwelling in an architecturally arresting new building, living in Seattle means having the best of the Northwest—and the world—at their fingertips. ■

AMAZING CITIES TO LIVE NAPLES, FL

W

hether to enjoy your prime or spend your golden years, Naples, Florida is a small city by the sea known for its historic architecture, stunning ocean views, and world-class golf courses. It’s also one of the country’s wealthiest communities, home to more millionaires per population than almost any other city, and one of the safest, in terms of crime statistics. These factors emerge through Naples’ design and character. Right on the Gulf coast and home to a thriving tourism industry, visitors come to the Naples-Fort Myers region each year to relax on soft, white sands, swim in crystal emerald waters, and enjoy the beautiful sunset from Naples Pier. For residents, these factors are a year-round draw and contribute to its easygoing yet upscale atmosphere. Naples gets 2,900 hours of sunshine on average each year, and once here, you’ll find that the weather pleasantly stays within the 70s. The beach, as well as nearby parks and nature preserves, can be visited during every season, offering a tranquil escape. Wherever you walk, the city’s design is reminiscent of Mediterranean Europe, with stucco, arched facades and sloped tiled roofs. Real estate wise, Naples is home to many luxury properties and gated communities. Here, you’ll notice the city has a visible senior population: over 20 percent of residents are over 65 years of age, with some living in retirement communities and others flying in during winter to bask in the weather.

Some of the best beaches in the world can be found in Naples, due to its location and conditions. Walk along or relax on the sands, or as many do, revel in it from a boat off the shore. Beyond the sands, 80 championship golf courses are within Naples’ boundaries, with some designed by Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, or other notable players. ■

AMAZING CITIES TO LIVE PORTLAND, ME

W

hile, these days, Portland, Ore., is a better-known city, its identically named counterpart on the East Coast actually came first. Considered part of the greater Boston area, Portland, Maine, fuses the urban, artistic characteristics of its larger neighbor with New England small-town charm and throws in everything that makes Maine a top summertime vacation destination. Portland, in many regards, is all about fluidity: Small neighborhoods that transition from one to the next, old architecture blending in with new developments, and a coastal, seaside character coexisting with a bustling downtown, must-experience culinary attractions, and a strong local arts scene. Yet, as its greater metropolitan area holds one-third of Maine’s population and sees traffic surge in warmer seasons, it’s also very much the center of it all. How does this all come together? For one, Portland’s not just a tourist destination. Its Casco Bay location marks one of the U.S.’s few operating waterfronts, which also happens to be New England’s largest seaport by tonnage and second-largest fishing port overall. However, just a short walk away, you’ll encounter a busy city center filled with small businesses, galleries, and innovative restaurants not just using local ingredients like blueberries and lobster but further pushing the boundaries of culinary tradition. As well, an even closer look reveals an intriguing architectural amalgamation: Near traditional downtown high-rises sit preserved 19th and 20th century structures, the European-influenced Old Port, and, if you venture to the Eastern Promenade, various Victorian homes.

Even if you’re traveling in from out of town, Portland’s art scene is something you’ve got to experience at least once. The city’s Portland Museum of Art, sitting right at the center, features over 18,000 works spanning the classics through the late 20th century. But, its art-permile ratio exceeds any other city’s, and a short walk, or even a visit to the Maine College of Art, exposes you to more galleries, exhibits, and other cultural events. ■
