Playhouse Square
College & Professional Sports
Playhouse Square is the world’s largest theater restoration project and the country’s largest performing arts center outside New York City. You can catch a Broadway show, a dance performance, concert or comedy show year-round. And the best part? Playhouse Square is on the western edge of campus, so you can easily walk there!
Cleveland is home to three professional sports teams: Browns (NFL), Guardians (MLB) and Cavaliers (NBA). On campus, CSU has 18 division 1 sports, so come support your fellow Vikings! With their arenas, stadiums and ballparks downtown, nothing is more than 10 minutes from campus.

Public Square
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Public Square, a short walk down Euclid Avenue in the heart of Downtown Cleveland, offers events throughout the year. Watch a live performance on the Mandel Concert Hill, listen to presentations on the Speakers’ Terrace or grab food from a nearby cafe and picnic on the Gund Foundation Green. Public Square also features interesting monuments and a cobbled path perfect for an after-lunch stroll.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is alive with energy, passion and music. The 150,000-squarefoot museum features seven floors of memorabilia from music icons such as The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley and Abba with new inductees every year. The Rock Hall also hosts live music and events and is less than 10 minutes from campus by car.

Great Lakes Science Center
West Side Market
Great Lakes Science Center houses hundreds of interactive exhibits. Discover the idiosyncrasies of science, investigate bodily functions in the Grossology Lab or have a space experience in the NASA Glenn Visitor Center. The Science Center has an on-site cafeteria with fantastic lake views and a theater with a six-story-high domed cinema screen. It is located next to the Rock Hall, less than 10 minutes from campus.
West Side Market was built in 1912 and provides fresh produce, meats, dairy products and other prepared foods. You can find foods from various cultures here. The West Side Market is a short 7-minute drive across the Carnegie Bridge.

7 Ohio City
The Flats
Ohio City is a trendy dining and entertainment neighborhood that is home to over 250 local businesses. You will find specialty foods and coffee shops there, as well as numerous historic sites. Ohio City is just across the Carnegie bridge, a short 10 minutes from campus by car or bus!
The Flats is a redeveloped area on the banks of the Cuyahoga River. The flats are known for their nightlife with edgy restaurants, clubs, live music, comedy and great food; water taxis can take people from one side of the river to the other to enjoy both banks! The Flats are a short 10-minute car or bus ride from campus.

University Circle
Cleveland Metroparks
University Circle is home to world renown museums. The Cleveland Museum of Art ranks second in the nation and holds more than 61,000 artifacts. It’s also free! The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is a 550-acre building with exhibits from dinosaurs to astronomy. Student IDs earn a discount! The Cleveland Botanical Garden offers an oasis with beautiful gardens and curated glasshouses. Just 10 minutes from campus and accessible by public transit.
Cleveland Metroparks spans more than 24,000 acres surrounding Cleveland, over 300 miles of trails, with 18 reservations, eight golf courses, eight lakefront parks, five nature centers and a nationally recognized zoo. The Cleveland Metroparks was named best in the nation for recreation and management.
