GEICO helps ensure Child Life Program GEICO Corporation and the Gecko visited our pediatric department to deliver a $10,000 donation to support
Lakeland Regional’s Child Life Program. Making this contribution means a great deal to GEICO because the hospital, especially the pediatric department, has touched the lives of many of their employees. Whether the employees themselves were born here or they have brought their own children to our hospital, Lakeland Regional Medical Center has played a vital role in caring for the employees and families of GEICO. Providing excellent care to children and their families in a loving environment is our top priority on the pediatric floor. Through GEICO’s philanthropic support of this program we are able to provide the emotional support for families and encourage optimum development of children facing a broad range of challenging experiences, particularly those related to healthcare and hospitalization. During GEICO’s visit, the Gecko had a chance to visit patients throughout the pediatric unit – bringing many smiles to young faces along the way. Thank you to Lakeland Regional’s Foundation and GEICO for making this donation a reality and for helping to create the best healthcare experiences for our patients. Good Life RV Resort walks the walk for LRCC The Good Life RV Resort in Bartow recently held a Cancer Walk event and made donations totaling $3,103
to support cancer clinical trials at Lakeland Regional Cancer Center. LRCC continues to provide clinical trial options for all major cancer types and disease stages, giving our patients a variety of promising protocols and broadening our access to cancer clinical trials in the prevention and treatment of cancer.
