My master degree thesis develops an analysis on a muslim castle-palace in the Valencian region, in particular its history from its origins to nowdays, with the aim of transforming it into a reference point for the muslim museums of the region. The approch of my studies is based on the research of the identity of the buildings, in particular from its unique history. The post-degree Master in BIM Manager is an important milestone in my university career to consolidate my knowledge in BIM workflow and apply it on all case-studies, to optimize work and time.

2017-2018 Master degree thesis THE BENISANÓ CASTLE-PALACE, Valencia Historical, constructive analysis and proposal of architectural recovery Oriented by: Prof. Arch. Rafael Marín Sánchez, Prof. Arch. Paolo Bertonicini Sabatini

The new market area - perspective view from the top

The Benisanó castle-palace, in the province of Valencia, consists of a tower of Muslim origins (which dates back to the 11th-12th century) located at the center of the building and then incorporated into the castle-palace built from the 15th century onwards. The first phase of work was based on a first metric – instrumental survey of the whole complex, from which it was possible to make a survey of materials and construction techniques used. At the same time, a thorough and punctual research of certified documentary sources was carried out, through which it has been possible to reconstruct, almost completely, the history of the architectural complex.

The new market area 06

At least, the project proposal involves a redevelopment and recovery of the building in relation to the needs of the population and the Municipality of Benisanó, in particular a renewed exhibition path and birth of a museum center on Arab culture, the reduction of architectural barriers, and an expansion of the medieval market within the castlemoat. 07

2017 A NEW HIGH SCHOOL, Viareggio (LU) Collaboration with Arch. Francesca Bassano Oriented by: Prof. Arch. Luca Lanini

08

The concept starts from considering its integration in the urban pattern and purposely inside the available lot. The building is composed by two blocks linked by a central unit which features a wide walkway on which the classrooms on the first and second floor overlook. The school develops onto three floors (4,50 metres high each), plus an underground floor with 40 parking spaces, a technical room and warehouse. Besides, each floor is accessible from two lifts to make easier the access for people with disabilities. In the central building, on the ground floor, there is a wide hall used as assignment area and meeting point as well. Infact, from here, we can get to the administrative offices to the right and the gym, the library and the conference hall to the left, each interchanged with open spaces on “pilotis. Finally, the external area has been equipped with benches, lights, trees. 09
