LETTER FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR HERE IS A GOOD QUESTION: Why should I continue to support my Chamber of Commerce? Here is the answer: 1. The Chamber is the front door to our community, the first impression many new residents, visitors or businesses get when they come here. 2. We assist new businesses in their formation, marketing and publicity and in

establishing vital contacts in this market. 3. We provide networking opportunities, resources and services. 4. We promote and assist economic development. 5. We exist to help businesses grow and prosper. 6. We provide learning opportunities via seminars, forums and interesting speakers. (To be continued in the April Newsletter)

CHAMBER MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

WADSWORTH OIL OPENS ECO-FRIENDLY STORE

THE STORE on Old Tuscaloosa Hwy, McCalla, AL held its grand opening ceremony on Feb. 23, 2012. This new addition to Wadsworth Oil Company of Clanton is an ecofriendly service station and convenience store that employs a variety of measures

such as energy-efficient fixtures, recycled materials as well as water and landscape preservation. “This will be the first such store in Alabama said Jim Wadsworth, president of Wadsworth Oil. John Roper, executive director of Alabama Chapter

of the U.S. Green Building Council believes Wadsworth is breaking new ground by applying this approach to a convenience store. Congratulations to Jim and his team on this environmentally friendly approach to a building project.

This Chamber Member Spotlight will be a regular feature in our newsletter. If you would like for your business to be featured here, please email a picture and text to info@chiltonchamberonline.com, and we will include it in an upcoming edition.

Happiness is not a matter of good fortune or worldly possessions. It’s a mental attitude. It comes from appreciating what we have, instead of being miserable about what we don’t have. It’s so simple...yet so hard for the human mind to comprehend. – John Luther
