ORSCC: Renovate and transform it from a community center to use by non-profit or for-profit organizations, or artist’s work space; Redmond Senior Center: Renovate and provide additional space to the Senior Center; Old Firehouse Teen Center: Renovate and add to the Teen Center; Redmond Pool: Replace the Redmond Pool with a comprehensive aquatics center on a new site; Performing arts space(s): Investigate ways to meet demand for performing arts spaces; Community Center: Construct a new community center for recreation and athletic uses on a new site. Scenarios describing four scales of new community centers from a small aquatics center to a comprehensive leisure center are included in a matrix.
The Community Center and Aquatics Center could be combined in a single building to create a dynamic indoor recreation and aquatics center for the City of Redmond. Such a comprehensive facility would benefit the community, centralizing wellness/ fitness and recreational activities and result in substantial operational efficiencies.
