Strengthen, tone and lengthen core muscles, build overall strength and stamina, increase flexibility and improve posture with this class designed for adults over 50. Participants should be able to rise comfortably from floor to standing, and bring an exercise mat. 10 – 11 a.m. on Thursdays for eight weeks at the LLSC, beginning June 12. Cost is $53.

This relaxing, energizing program incorporates the use of chairs, gentle breathing and yoga postures to help improve flexibility and balance; perfect for the novice or anyone who would prefer to sit in a chair rather than on the floor. 1 – 2 p.m. on Wednesdays for eight weeks beginning June 13 at LLSC. St. Louis Food: Inventions, Myths and Legends Here’s a class that’s bound to make your mouth water. Learn about St. Louis patents and inventions like Seven-Up and gooey butter cake, get the skinny on famous foods allegedly introduced at the 1904 World’s Fair and taste some St. Louis specialties. 1 – 2:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at the LLSC beginning June 27. Ed Sullivan Remember Ed Sullivan, the stone-faced emcee of the longest running variety show in TV history? Watch and discuss video clips of his show, which featured celebrities like the Beatles and circus acts like plate spinners and knife-throwers. 1 – 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, at the LLSC. Early Days of Rock ‘n’ Roll Bob Lord, Entertainment History Specialist

Revisit the era when Bill Haley, Elvis, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry and others were inventing rock n’ roll, the music that started it all.
