It’s home to many annual events, including The Sturgis Falls Celebration, Cedar Basin Music Festival, Holiday Hoopla, District Street Party, and the IHSAA Football Playoffs. Food and shopping enthusiasts will love the many unique restaurants, breweries, and boutiques. Outdoor lovers can explore over 130 miles of trails on the Cedar Valley Trails, and night owls will find plenty of live music and shows to enjoy. History buffs can delve into the past at the Ice House Museum, Little Red Schoolhouse, and Victorian House Museum. And if you’re traveling with kids, they’ll have a blast at the UNI Botanical Center, The Falls Aquatic Center, and nearby Lost Island Theme Park and Water Park.

New Destinations Panthers on Parade (May-October 2024)

Cedar River Recreational Project (Fall 2024)

The new school features an outdoor stadium for visiting sports teams and a proposed community indoor pool.

Plan a visit to see the multi-milliondollar enhancement of the river area near downtown. The improvements provide new opportunities for fishing, tubing, paddling, and more. Multiple water access points will be added for kayaking and tubing, along with fishing jetties and aquatic life pools. The project is designed to provide safe and easy access to the river for visitors to play, relax, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

For a limited time, 27 6-foot-tall TC mascots will be placed throughout the community, each adorned by a different artist. This project combines the diverse talents of the community’s artists while showcasing the area’s love for the UNI Panthers. Each mascot will be a work of art, and visitors to the Cedar Valley can

You will find a little bit of everything on this 10.5 mile loop: shaded riverside riding, rolling hills, and residential developments. Plus you will cross Krieg’s Crossing over the Cedar River!

Songbirds and prairie flowers abound on this 15 mile ride from downtown to Prairie Lakes Park and back. You’ll follow Dry Run Creek through beautiful Rownd Park, enter a mile-long tunnel of Cedar Falls Visitors overhanging trees, and Center emerge into prairie grasses and abundant blossoms.

If you’re looking to see the campus this 8.5 mile loop gives you a chance to enjoy! You’ll cruise through the UNI campus, past the UNI Dome, over rolling hills on the west side of town, and come back past golf courses and sports fields.

May through October, 2024 Spend a day exploring the area. Beginning this spring, twenty-seven towering TC Panther mascot statues will be displayed throughout the area. This community pride project is a tribute to the UNI Panthers and tells the story of Cedar Falls, its rich history, culture, and landscape from the unique perspectives of individual artists. It’s a great opportunity for those who have a connection to Cedar Falls to revisit memories and for visitors to get an insider’s look from area locals.
