Chuck Beddingfield begins his 17th year in college athletics administration and his fifth year as the Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Development at The Citadel. His primary responsibilities are to secure funding for construction of Johnson Hagood Stadium and oversee the marketing efforts of The Citadel’s Athletic Department. Prior to coming to The Citadel in March of 2002, he worked 12 years with Big XII conference institutions Oklahoma State and Iowa State and SEC member Mississippi State University. At Oklahoma State, Beddingfield served as the department’s Assistant Athletic Director for Development. In this capacity he was the director of OSU’s fundraising organization, which was successful and increased funds raised in six of the seven years that he served in that capacity. He also had oversight of the department’s ticket office, marketing and promotions, corporate sponsorships, and concessions. At Iowa State, he was the Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Development. During his tenure, Iowa State enjoyed increased football attendance and experienced record revenues for fundraising and corporate sponsorships. While at Mississippi State, Beddingfield served as Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs and as Executive Director of the Bulldog Club. He directed the department’s first ever sellout of season football tickets. Under his leadership, the Bulldog Club nearly doubled its annual fundraising over a two-year period. Beddingfield, who serves on the Executive Committee for the National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD), was elected to the position of second Vice President and Secretary this June in New Orleans. A native of Raleigh, N.C., Beddingfield earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education at Appalachian State and his master’s degree in
