The idea behind CÎME came up when Walter and Anke (father and daughter) did a trekking in Ladakh, India. This magnificent region in the Himalayas made a lasting impression. It gave them the inspiration to create a
range of natural skin care products based on a mix between high altitude plants, traditional knowledge and modern science. Once back home from their trekking, Anke told her friend Isabel about this idea. Due to her sensitive skin, Isabel had become an expert in natural beauty
products. Having had trouble to find natural products that lived up to her standards, she was quickly convinced to start her own line of high quality and nontoxic beauty products.
Isabel and Anke – at that time both lawyers at international law firms – decided to switch careers. And Walter, who has been in the business of organic herbs and plant extracts for more than 20 years, agreed to help develop the products. Together they are the proud founders of CÎME.

Nepal Trust: in the framework of the ‘little doctors’ program, school children of the region Humla (one of the poorest and most isolated regions of Nepal, with a child
mortality rate of over 30%) are educated in the fields of personal hygiene, diseases, sanitation, first aid and nutrition. They are trained to become ‘little doctors’ who can share their knowledge with family, friends and members of the community.

For our active ingredients, we make use of plants that grow in the Himalayas. At a height of over 3000 meters, one can find in the Himalayas amongst others wild roses, sea buckthorn berries, edelweiss and apricots. Plants that grow at such height and under extreme conditions are among the purest of their kind and contain an abundance of active ingredients. For the cultivation of these plants, we work in cooperation with farmers in the Himalayas, who receive a fair price for their produce.
We use sustainable sourced natural ingredients. Our packaging is made from recyclable materials and we do not test our ingredients, prototypes or finished products on animals.
