Brief/Session/Document Title Aperture Redesign Brief Produce a 60th anniversary supplement to be presented with the fall 2012 edition of aperture and at to be given out at the exhibition. Background / Considerations The magazine contains interviews, biography’s, portfolios and articles. Allow the content to speak through the Type & Layout. Focus closely on the relationship between the photography and the text, allowing the magazine to focus on either when relevant. Consider the physical body of the magazine and how this can aid in the content being received to the reader. Aperture magazine is 60 years old, they are the biggest photography publishing magazine in America, reflect some of the great work they have published over the years.

I am going produce a magazine layout focussing not only on its printed elements but on digital formats & distribution. Time Scale Week 1: Research into the physical build of the magazine and start converting content ready for layout. Week 2: Contact printers and start building a grid for the magazine, produce preliminary layouts. Week 3: Start layouts and produce magazine Week 4: Print & Bind magazine (Start digital mock ups and in store point of sale) Week 5: Finalise digital formats and add interactivity through After effects Week 6: Produce Boards.
