Soil Erosion Control System Coconet • Made from 100% coconut coir fiber from coconut husk • Biodegradable, light-weight, and highly absorbent • Improved filtration and drainage • Helps soil consolidation and maintenance Sample Specification: CGN 400 (40x40 Mesh Size) CGN 700 (40x70 Mesh Size)

WEAVING

(40x70) ideal for steeper slopes greater than 30-degree gradient

TWINER

STORAGE

(40x40) ideal for normal soil erosion control applications and for slopes of less than 30-degree gradient

Vetiver Grass Chrysopogon zizaniodes

• Height 1-2 meters perennial tussock grass • Has extremely deep and complex root system 3-4 meters • Widely adaptable to different environmental conditions • Requires a small area for growth • Low maintenance • Can easily propagate • For deep soil stabilization

Cocologs

• Tabular nets that have been densely packed with absorbent coco coir • Can be formatted in different ways depending upon the desired use • Used to control surface runoff • Stabilize banks/shores • Reinforce slopes or control siltation via check dams • Prop up slopes and define riverbanks • Control the flow of surface run-off Sample Specifications: • CGR 200 (20cm in diameter) • CGR 300 (30cm in diameter)

Hyrdoseeding • Efficient planting procedure • Used to seed large areas • Vegetative cover will consolidate surface and subsurface soils Sample Plants: • Red narra seedlings and Peanut plant

AFTER 3-4 DAYS: The area that has been hydroseeded will begin to sprout and small tufts of the desired plant species will be seen

The Vetiver hedges will begin showing signs of growth, meaning the roots have begun to penetrate. At this stage the area that has been hydroseeded will be showing growth.

AFTER 1-2 WEEKS

AFTER 1 MONTH AFTER 3 MONTHS

. Vetiver hedges will be displaying moregrowth and may require trimming. This is the stage where maintenance (trimming/mowing) of the hydroseeded area should begin (if aesthetics are important)

AFTER A YEAR The soil is stabilized. Biological systems are now preforming the role of soil stabilization and maintenance.

The plant species laid down by hydroseeding will have completely obscured the coconets. The Vetiver hedges will now be established with roots reaching as deep as 1-2m, the hedges will have to be trimmed at this stage
