THE BEAUTY BENEATH Beginning in 2014, The Metro Project is an ongoing photo series exploring the architecture, art, and design of metro stations around the world. From the Brutalist stations of Montreal to the hand-painted bedrock caves of Stockholm, and the colorful platforms of Munich, each metro station offers its own unique atmosphere and story. Often photographed free of people, the stations take center stage clear of distractions. Long exposures distill motion down to a simple blur, contrasting the stillness of the architecture with the graphic movement inherent in the spaces.
