‘We sin as devils do, We love as angels’
Be careful with whatever, or whoever, you allow yourself to be consumed by. ‘We sin as devils do; we love as angels’-Fall Star, is the exploration of, some, humans need to overindulge in anything and everything. Gluttony extends far beyond the table; it is an all-consuming addiction to always wanting more. The collection is a mix of complex pattern cutting techniques to create oversized silhouettes, portraying the gluttonous image of man, along side simplistic fitted pieces to create the il usion of a larger than life silhouette. Incorporating hand knitted elements, with digitally and screen-printed knit supports the minimal waste in knit concept. A complex journey that encounters extremes of weight, dimension and tactility. Wodded knits take on restricted forms for enveloping the consuming appearance. Interactive tactile knitwear surfaces appeal, intrigue and delight with stimulating designs that create a sense of fun and play. What if our sin is not that we have loved the material things of this world too much? What if our sin is that we have loved them too little and in the wrong ways? (Stone 2013)
