There was a girl named Layda. She doesn’t like to eat fruits and vegetables. “If you don’t eat your fruits and vegetables, someone might get you,” Layda’s lola told her. Layda didn’t eat her dinner and went to her room to sulk. She didn’t listen to her grandmother. She really doesn’t like vegetables.

5

But Layda was hungry for not eating her dinner. So Layda serached for food. There was no food in their ref or any other place in the kitchen. There was only a big kaldero on the table. Layda had no choice but to search for food in the kaldero.

6

Layda was so hungry that she didn’t care what’s inside the kaldero anymore. As Layda opened the kaldero, Layda noticed something. “Finally I can eat!”, Layda thought. Oh but she was so wrong because once she opened the kaldero she was magically sucked inside the kaldero!

7

Layda was transported to a strange new place where there are trees and candies and other goodies. Layda saw four other kids with her. They talked and introduced themselves. They become fast friends because they share one thing in common: They love junkfood.

8

Suddenly, someone in a majestic voice spoke...

9

“Your love for junkfood and all unhealthy foods brought you here to here my kingdom. “My name is Reyna Kaldero and I rule this land. I know you kids are very hungry right now, so I prepared a feast of unhealthy foods for everyone!” The kids rejoiced for they can eat junkfood since they are so very hungry.

The four children ate their feast happily. They are so full they can’t barely walk. Then, Reyna Kaldero spoke, “While you are eating your fill let me tell you the consequences of your actions. You are all my slaves now because you refuse to eat vegetable and fruits. The children gasped and panicked. Reyna Kaldero continued. “But not to worry, someone might be lucky enough to go back to their homes...if she will win the game I will let you play. If not, then you will all be my slaves forever!”

13

14

The four children played Reyna Kaldero’s game valiantly in order for them to get home. The four children tried their very best to win the game in order to go home and be back to their families. But in the end there can only be the one and only winner.

15

16

Layda won Reyna Kaldero’s game! Reyna Kaldero spoke, “Congratulations! You are not my slave but if you don’t eat your vegetables and fruits I will take you back in my kingdom and be a slave like the rest of them . “Eat these fruits and vegetables and you can go back to where you came from.” The queen commanded. As Layda was about to eat a basket full of vegetables and fruits she looked to her friends in their prison cell and thought of something.

17

“They are my friends, I should save them too!”, Layda thought fiercely. Little did Reyna Kaldero know that Layda had a plan. She gathered the fruits and vegetables from the basket and gave each to her friends. Layda told her friends, “Let us eat all these together so we can go back home.” The last thing they heard was the anguished cry of Reyna Kaldero, never to be heard again.

The four children escaped the clutches of Reyna Kaldero! They realized that they should eat vegetables and fruits so they can be healthy and strong. And most importanly, so that they wouldn’t be slaves to Reyna Kaldero. 21

Layda suddenly woke up in her room. It’s morning and it’s time for breakfast. She hurriedly comes down to the kitchen. “Good morning!” greeted Layda “You better eat your veggies and fruits young lady,” Layda’s lola said. 22

“Of course I will. I want to be healthy and strong!” replied Layda. Layda happily eats her veggies without complaint much to her lola’s surprise and delight. 23
