Fun-fundraising CDHope works in a remote and very poor area. Our foundation aspires to achieve a lasting effect on the lives of children, and education is a good tool for breaking the vicious circle of poverty. CDHope wants to make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged village children. We depend on donations, so it is time for some fundraising!

Gouda’s Goudse Waarden school community Teachers and employees of this secondary school were given the option of donating their Christmas favour to one of two charities chosen by the Board of directors and CDHope was one of them. Is this something that your organization might consider doing in 2013? Kamerik Christmas market We had two booths at the Kamerik Christmas market, one with handmade greeting cards and another with souvenirs. The visitors were treated to Ugandan refreshments and could leaf through a photo album. We also handed out folders about the Kamerik child sponsorship fund, which has been set up to enable group sponsorships of our children. Also on offer were greeting cards on sale for one euro on which you could write your name and personal greeting. These cards will be sent to Uganda and distributed among the villagers in Chawolo. The greeting cards and souvenirs brought in € 327 and € 140 respectively. Children’s clothing fair in Oldebroek A team of volunteers organized children’s clothing fair at the beginning of the winter season. The proceeds were donated to CDHope in Uganda. Any fund-raising ideas you may have are welcome!

These changes are the work of God, who is leading us. He gave us the faith and the enthusiasm to tell people about the fantastic work being carried out by Tim and Wilma in Uganda. As a result, it has drawn many visitors to Chawolo.

And that’s not all... SECONDARY SCHOOL

CHILD SPONSORSHIP FUND

It is summer vacation time now in Chawolo. The children will start the new school year in February/March 2013. We are working hard on the construction of the new secondary school in Chawolo. CDHope is planning to start off with two classes and hopes to add a new one every year. We are hoping to be ready to open in February/March 2013.

We already have six sponsors for students in the first year class and six sponsors for the second year class. To be able to break even, we need to have 20 sponsored children per class.

Tim and Wilma are busy preparing for the opening. The school will be open for the children of the orphanage and village. A waiting list will soon be posted on the website, with a list of children we would like to find sponsors for. Please contact us at thuisfront@cdhope.org if you would like to give a child the chance to attend secondary school for € 30 per month.

The board realizes that € 30 per month is too much for some potential sponsors. If you would like to help a child on the way to a hope -filled future, we are now offering the option of committing any amount between € 5 and € 30 via the sponsorship fund. Your contribution, combined to the contributions of other sponsors, will provide a child with hope for the future. We will send you a digital update on your child twice a year. Reminder: Dive 4 Hope – Furlough airfare campaign – Goede Doel Shop New Year’s polar bear dip – Dive for Hope! It has become a tradition for participants to seek sponsors for their courageous dip into ice-cold water on New Year’s Day. A group of enthusiasts from the Crossroads in The Hague have been soliciting sponsorship and turning in the proceeds to Child’s Destiny of Hope for a number of years already. The dip will take place on January 1st at noon. Are you willing to take a dip into the North Sea or into a lake in your area? Or perhaps you are involved with an association, church or school whose younger or adult members would be up for the challenge and would like to start off the new year with a sponsored dip or sponsoring someone else’s dip for a good cause? We can provide you with folders, sponsor list sheets and sponsor forms to keep

your administrative work to a minimum, so that you can concentrate your efforts on promoting the cause of CDHope.
