Workshop information for 2013
We are located in the Northwest mountainous corner of North Carolina. There are three different airports in North Carolina that you can fly into: Greensboro, Charlotte, and Asheville. Each is approximately a two hour drive from us (each in a different direction). Greensboro or Charlotte is recommended and is an easier drive. The road from Asheville is a more complicated and curvy mountain road. There is also an airport in Eastern Tennessee (Tri-City airport), that is an hour and a half away, but involves curvy, mountain driving. From any of the airports, you can rent a car for the week. (These reservations should be made ahead of time)
The studio will be unlocked at 8:00am for those who wish to arrive early. You may stay until 5:45 pm . The doors will be locked overnight, so you may safely leave your supplies at your workstation. SUPPLIES: Don’t worry if you have forgotten something—Cheap Joe’s Outlet Store is next door to our workshop, so you can make purchases as you need them. The store will happily run an account for you for the week. The store opens for workshop students at 8:30 am . You can also contact our call center (1-800227-2788) and place an order to be held for your arrival. FOOD: Lunch will be provided for you Monday through Thursday. Plein Air workshops will be provided lunch on Monday only. We offer a variety of delicious food, but of course, there’s no way
to accommodate every individual. If you have special dietary needs that is not met with this menu, you may want to pack your lunch or go out to eat for that day. Several restaurants are located within one mile of Cheap Joe’s, and very convenient to the hotels. There is also a take out service available for delivery from area restaurants to you. PETS: Sorry, but although we are animal lovers at Cheap Joe’s, we must ask that you please DO NOT bring your pets with you to the workshop. PROMOTIONS: 1. If you sign up for multiple workshops in the same year, the first three will be at regular price, but you will receive a 10% discount for each additional workshop taken within the same year.
2. If you pay in full when you register for a workshop at least 90 days prior to the class you will receive a $25 gift-certificate to use in the outlet store during your workshop. 3. If a group of 6 or more register for the same workshop, you will each receive a 10% discount. *Only one discount can be used per workshop and discounts cannot be used with any other promotional offer. Payment Options: 1. Pay in Full 2. Half now — half later. 3. Three monthly installments.

Cheap Joe’s is located just inside the city limits of Boone right off of Highway 421, three miles East of the Downtown Boone business district, and about one mile East of the Best Western Hotel and the Country Inn & Suites. We are in the Watauga County Industrial Park on Industrial Park Drive. CLASSROOM HOURS: Our workshops run Monday through Thursday (9am—4pm) and Friday (9am—1pm) (unless otherwise specified).
