THE EUROPEAN FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS

7

DIGNITY: Dignity in EU is about the right to live, to live in freedom. To live without torture, right to medical care. This law actually has influence on us as well, we won’t be seen as a second priority because of race nor age. We can live free, and won’t have to do hard labor and such. Criminals won’t have to worry about execution, neither does their family have to worry about losing them.

FREEDOM: This means you have the right to freedom, and safety. You have the right to marry and found family, and to believe in whatever religion you want to. And you have the rights to education. This affects us as well, I can believe my own religion without the fear of being excluded from the society. It also means that I have to chance to get a good education and have a bright future. Where I can keep my privacy.

EQUALITY: The European people are proponent of the equality in EU. Any kind of discrimination based on race, colour, religion or belief, language, social origin, disability, age or sexual orientation isn’t all right. We are all equal, and should all be treated in that way. No matter which country and what language you talk, we are all human. We all got different belief and persuasion, but just because the counterpart doesn’t mean the same as you, doesn’t mean that you is more worth than him. You don’t have to give the counterpart a feeling of inferiority. Out Union shall respect religious and linguistic diversity. Equality between women and men is a tough one, but in the European Union, they’re trying to make it work. There should be equality between women and men, no matter if it’s on work or in your home. 8

Children shall have the right to say what they truly mean. And as an adult, you should listen to the children and hear what they have to say. Every child has the right to contact her or his parent, unless the parent isn’t the best for the child. Children shall have the right to protection and care, which is necessary for their well-being. The European Union respects the elder’s right to be happy, and live a social and cultural life.

SOLIDARITY: Everyone has the right of access to a free placement service. Every worker has the right to protection against unjustified dismissal. It means that if you are getting fired without a reason, you can get help. Every worker has the right to a healthy, safety and worthy terms of employment. Every worker has the right to an annual period of paid leave and weakly rest periods. Child employment is illegal. We think that the minimum age so you can work is 13 years old. The children that work need protection if the work harms their safety, health or physical mental, moral or social development or if it affects their school work. All family have the right to protection from dismissal for a reason connected with maternity and the right to paid maternity leave.
