The mission of the CFA Society Germany and CFA Institute is to set the highest standards of ethics and professional excellence for the investment industry in Germany. The CFA Society Germany is the leading association of investment professionals in the German financial industry. With over 2,000 members, the society represents a broad base within the investment sector and advocates initiatives that focus on investment standards, financial education and ethics in the capital markets. The CFA Society Germany is a local member society of CFA Institute, the global association of CFA Charterholders and financial experts with more than 123.000 members in 145 countries. The CFA Institute administers the Chartered Financial Analyst Program (CFA), the leading professional qualification of the finance industry globally.

Today the CFA Program is considered the “Gold Standard” (Financial Times, August 2010) among the graduate level curriculums of the financial industry.
THE CHARTERED FINANCIAL ANALYST (CFA) PROGRAM Transparency, education and a clear commitment to ethical and professional standards: these values form the basis for creating trust in the finance industry.
The CFA Program is a graduate-level self-study program that combines a broad curriculum with professional conduct requirements, culminating in three sequential exams. Each level consists of a six hour exam in English and requires about 300 hours of preparation. Most candidates need bet ween 3 to 5 years to complete the program. The self-study format allows you to continue working full-time as you progress towards earning the CFA Charter. The curriculum is adapted annually to the complex chal lenges and latest developments of the global capital markets. The aim of the program is an education that provides investment professionals with the tools that they need for their daily work. Investment professionals holding the CFA Charter demonstrate to clients, employers, regulating authorities and other financial market stakeholders that they: 1. passed a demanding education program with a broad range of investment topics, 2. adhere to ethical and professional standards, 3. have at least four years of professional experience in the investment industry, 4. commit to continuing education beyond the CFA Cur riculum.

SERVICES FOR MEMBERS AND CFA CANDIDATES The CFA Society was founded in 2000 as the association of CFA Charterholder and investment professionals in Germany. Currently our 2,000 plus members are distributed across the country. Our most active communities are in Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Stuttgart, Berlin and Hannover.
The CFA Society Germany offers its members many services, including: • Regular lectures, panel discussions, seminars and workshops • Regular discourse with key stakeholders in the financial markets to increase awareness of the CFA Charter in Germany • Newsletter, online job board “CFA JobMarkt” and webstreaming of events • Representing the interests of capital market experts and providing guidelines in a dynamic and fast changing environment • Representation at career fairs To support candidates, the CFA Society Germany cooperates with providers of CFA Program prep courses and study materials. Even before finishing the CFA Program candidates are able to become members of the CFA Society Germany and receive similar benefits to our members and also take advantage of rebates for exam preparation materials.
