Welcome to our What’s On 2016, celebrating Centrestage’s 10th year! Since opening on 26th June 2006, Centrestage performers of all ages have staged musicals, plays, cabarets and special events at our James Little Street theatre. Ten years on, over 100 original productions are performed annually here and in the wider community and we are so grateful to everyone who has been part of our journey so far. Centrestage operates as a social enterprise and is delighted to support the work of our associated charity, Centrestage Communities Ltd (SCO39611), enabling arts based activities to be taken into the wider community who may not, for social, geographic or financial reasons, be able to access them. All donations are gratefully received to develop, sustain and grow these projects across Ayrshire. Three very special events are included this year to help us celebrate our birthday. On Saturday 19th March, our 10th Anniversary ball will be held at the Seamill Hydro, fundraising in support of Centrestage Communities. Then, on our birthday weekend itself, the final performance of our 10th Anniversary production of “Sister Act” on Saturday 25th June will be a red carpet gala event followed by our 10th Birthday Party on Sunday 26th June at noon! Centrestage is fully accesible with the potential for large numbers of wheelchair users to attend any performance. Various Centrestage activities are now offered on a “pay it forward” basis, where there is no formal fee for attendance to encourage participation from those who may not be able to attend otherwise.
The Aspire2Perform Company present an incredible homage to the classic comedy films of the 1980’s in a brand new adventure. Marty McFly and Doc Brown are having some trouble with time travelling ghosts, and there’s only one number to call. Join the Ghostbusters as they use the Delorean to travel through space and time and encounter familiar faces along the way. The Aspire classes are part of the 'Unite' project at Centrestage and enables children, young people and adults living with a wide range of additional support needs and learning disabilities to participate fully within The Aspire2Perform Company the Centrestage community. present an homage to 'Grease'.
